☀️💦 Summer fun was in full swing at the Independence Village Fishers East pool party! Residents splashed, danced, and soaked up the sunshine with water balloon battles, a slip and slide, and even a wheelchair and walker wash station to make sure everyone was included in the fun. 🤩✨

Congratulations to Katie for our July Employee of the month! 🎉

Katie has come so far with her career at Independence Village of Avon since starting here in April of 2024. She has climbed in responsibilities from dishwasher to prep cook and line cook. Katie is always willing to fill in where needed and accept new challenges. As a recent graduate of Brownsburg High-school, she was studying the culinary arts throughout her educational career and has applied much of her knowledge to her work here. She has a great personality, strong natural cooking abilities, and a passion for improving her skills. With her kind soul and personal determination, our Executive Chef Dan has no doubts she will continue to grow and succeed.

Merry Christmas in July from Independence Village of Avon to you! We've celebrated the day listening to christmas music, decorating sugar cookies, and trying a special hot cocoa milkshake. It was a community favorite!

If you would like to join us in getting in the holiday spirit, try our hot cocoa milkshake recipe with us listed below and let us know what you think!

To make one blender:

2 cups of Whole Milk
4 cups of Vanilla Ice Cream
3/4 cup of Hot Cocoa Powder

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until combined. Pour in a glass and top with whipped cream if desired!

Happy National Vanilla Ice Cream Day! We started off today cooking our icecream base to dissolve our sugar, cooling it, and churning up three creamy and delicious batches of ice cream to celebrate the holiday with a homemade classic!

Did you know it takes around 2 cups of course salt in the surrounding ice to get it cold enough to freeze?

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first clothing and trinket swap a success! We took in donations of unused items to help give them a new home and get our residents a wardrobe update. All of our unclaimed treasures will be passed along to the Northview Christian Church clothing drive to continue the giving spirit and help out our community!
