Please consider supporting or attending: The 5th annual Mike Bird Golf Classic takes place at 9:30am 8/17 at Bob-O-Link Golf Course, 4141 Center Road.

Bird passed away in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. His two sons are students at Avon High School.

The Mike Bird Fund was created in his memory and is dedicated to “Fighting Back at Cancer” and aims to raise money for cancer research and patient/family support organizations.

Since 2021, $111,000 has been donated to the Cleveland Clinic (for prostate cancer research), The Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the Village Project, which provides meals for cancer patients and their families.

Buckle up your patience as city officials are advising drivers that they will begin to see activity in and around the Detroit Road/State Route 83 (Center Road) intersection as crews begin preparations for the upcoming construction project to widen the roadways.

Join the Avon Lions Club at the annual fishing derby, Saturday, June 14 at the Northgate Park Pond. Registration begins at 7:30 and the fishing derby will start at 8:00. Admission is free but children must be accompanied by an adult. Come join this fantastic Avon tradition! Hope to see you there and happy fishing!

Members of the Avon Lions Club participated in the Avon Beautiful Day. Lions planted flowers at the Lions Community Center at Northgate Park. Big thank you to Jennifer & Declan McNamara, Kevin Meyer, Kieth Porchetta and Larry and Addison Schram.

The Avon Lions Club partnered with the North Ridgeville Lions to sort and package 4,201 pairs of used eyeglasses. These used eyeglasses will be shipped to The Ohio State University School of Optometry. With their partner Student Volunteers to Optometric Services they will clean, sort by prescription and provide these eyeglasses to people in developing countries. Thanks to all who volunteered and it great to be a Lion!
