Vail Skin And Lashes Medical Spa & Salon is devoted to beauty, rejuvenation, relaxation, health, fitness, and weight loss. Eyelash Extensions are a semi-permanent way to extend the length and thickness of your natural eyelashes. They are applied on a hair-by-hair basis to your own lashes with special adhesive for a totally natural look. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FALSE LASHES AND EYELASH EXTENSIONS? False lashes are temporary and do not last through face washing. They are glued onto your lash line, not individual lashes, can look fake if not glued on right, and are typically applied just to wear for an event, not more than 24 hours of wear. HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST? Extensions can last up to 8 weeks or more with proper care, touch-ups and depending on the natural growth cycle of your own lashes. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET TOUCH-UPS? Typically every 3-4 weeks is recommended to replace any fallen lashes and/or for new lashes that have grown in. How well you take care of your extensions also plays a role in their life-span. HOW DO I CARE FOR MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS? You will receive instructions on how to cleanse the eye area of dirt and makeup to prevent lash adhesive breakdown. Care must also be taken to not rub eyes and avoid eyelash contact with terry cloth wash cloths and towels, eye makeup removers, creams or cleansers containing glycols and carbonates that can loosen the bond of your extensions. It will be your responsibility to read labels on all products used on your extensions. After your lashes have been applied you must allow 24 hours for the glue to completely cure before you can get them wet. You can but won't need to; that's the beauty of eyelash extensions. A water soluable (non-waterpoof) mascara can be used, but please note that constant use of mascara may shorten the life-span of your extensions. Water-proof mascara will dissolve the bond with the lashes and should never be used. WHAT PREPARATION IS NEEDED BEFORE GETTING EYELASH EXTENSIONS? Clients must remove contacts when necessary and wash eye area with a mild cleanser removing all eye makeup prior to application. Use of eye makeup removers containing P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol) or any glycol-based ingredient will result in failure of lash extensions to bond to your natural lashes. If in doubt of what to use, just wash with Johnson&Johnson baby shampoo to remove eye makeup. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY? Anywhere between 90-120-min for a new set, and touch-ups can take about 30-min, depending on lash loss. WHAT DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS CONSIST OF? You will be lying comfortably on your back, with your eyes closed during the painless process, listening to music and just relaxing. ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS SAFE FOR MY NATURAL LASHES? The glue does not come in contact, just your lashes, so there should be no irritation or allergic reactions to worry about. HOW DO I REMOVE THE EXTENSIONS? You can wait for them to fall off naturally when your own lashes shed, or you will need to have them removed by using a safe solvent that will dissolve the lash glue harmlessly from your natural lashes in minutes for a fee of $25. Attempting to remove the lashes yourself will result in natural lash loss and is never recommended. DO NOT PULL ON YOUR LASHES or rub them with a towel or washcloth. EYELASH EXTENSION POLICY: There is no Service Agreement or deposit required to book your appointment. You will be required to sign a "Consent for Procedure" form prior to the application process, and full payment will be due before the application process has begun. When coming for a touch-up appointment, you must return within 30 days to have it done or a new set fee will apply. The wear and care of your eyelash extensions will be your responsibility, and you will be given the proper instructions needed in order to maintain them. Failure to do so will result in poor lash extension longevity and client dissatisfaction.
