Acupuncture is a form of medicine originating from Asia and over 2000 years old. It is based on principles that relate to the observation, knowledge and the order of nature and how the universe works. The Chinese observed that the universe is two polarities of Yin and Yang and of Five Elements: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood. They also observed that human beings are a microcosm or reflection

of nature and have both polarities and the elements within them. Each Element is represented by both a yin and a yang organ that work together as a team to make the body, mind and spirit healthy. Illness or disease happens when all or one of the elements are out of balance causing the energy not to flow properly. Classical Chinese Medicine states that Qi (sometimes called vital force or life force) moves through out the body along 12 pathways or channels, nourishing and controlling the working of main organs and systems of the body. Acupuncture is done by inserting very fine needles in specific points on the body to influence the Qi in properly flowing to feed these organs and re-establish the body’s rhythm with the cycles of nature, the seasons, and the time of day. Once the energy is returned to its natural flow and balance, the mind, body, and spirit then return to health.

Are we living up to our true potential as human beings.
Recently, I hit a wall. I felt the pressure to fix people, to make their pain go away. But that’s not the role of a healer. I had forgotten my teachings.
Healing is not about fixing. It’s about guiding others back to their truth.

Even as an acupuncturist, I’ve seen that unless someone is connected to their potential, the treatments won’t hold. You can open energy channels—but if someone’s life is rooted in survival, disconnection, and avoidance, the disharmony returns.

We scroll endlessly on our phones. We binge shows and follow influencers. We watch others live their dreams—or we judge them—while quietly ignoring the pull in our own soul.

No matter your past. No matter your current circumstances.
You have just as much capacity to live a full, meaningful, aligned life as any public figure, creator, healer, or innovator you admire. The only difference?
They claimed it.

You are here to create, to feel, to love, to live fully and consciously.

Most of us—especially in modern Western culture—have no real idea what our true potential actually is.

To know peace.
To embody joy.
To step into your purpose—boldly and unapologetically.
Start by asking.
Start by being willing.
Let that willingness be the beginning of everything.

So let us start asking ourselves some questions. One of my teachers, Tom Brown Jr., called the Sacred Questions. Ask them with an open heart and a clear intention, and the answers will come—sometimes subtly, sometimes as breakthroughs.

How do we discover our true potential?
How do we block it?
Why don’t we live up to it?
What are you meant to express in this lifetime?
What does your soul’s blueprint long to share?

✨ Have you ever stopped to wonder why you're really here?
Why so many of us feel stuck, anxious, disconnected—from ourselves, our purpose, our joy?

Most of us were never taught how to tap into our true potential. We scroll, consume, compare… and wonder why we feel empty. But here's the truth:

👉 You were meant to live a life of peace, love, joy, and purpose.

You already have what it takes—it’s just been buried under survival, conditioning, and distraction. The path back isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering who you are and asking the right questions to get back there.

đź’ What does peace feel like in my body?
đź’ What is my soul longing to express?
đź’ How can I shift from surviving to truly living?

I share my personal story, plus the healing questions that changed my life and my practice, in this new blog post.

Without gratitude, our souls start to feel tired, sick, and restless — like missing vital nutrition.

Most healers, myself included, become healers because they have had deeper wounds than most, and this makes them strive to heal themselves and the wounds they see in others.

Gratitude, I’ve learned, is the most essential ingredient in creating peace, love, joy, and purpose. It’s free, it shifts our perspective, and even in the hardest moments, there’s always something to appreciate.

When “The Secret” first came out, I dove in with excitement. I created vision boards, acted “as if,” and focused on desires. But deep beliefs of scarcity pulled me back, and frustration crept in. Years later, during a difficult move and financial struggles, I discovered Rhonda Byrne’s The Magic — and committed to 28 days of gratitude exercises. Slowly but surely, my life changed: I felt lighter, more peaceful, and more content. Things didn’t turn out exactly as I imagined, but the feelings of joy and hope were real.

Gratitude is like daily nourishment — essential for emotional health, just like vitamins for the body. I’ve seen how life shifts when I commit to it, and how quickly stress returns when I neglect it.

Science backs this up! Neuroscience shows gratitude lights up brain regions tied to emotions and decision-making. Positive psychology studies reveal gratitude boosts happiness, reduces depression, improves sleep, lowers stress, strengthens immunity, and deepens relationships.

✨ If you’re new to gratitude, here’s a simple exercise:Each day, list 10 things you’re grateful for — past or present. It can be your breath, your home, a kind smile, or a memory that made you laugh. Repeat this daily for a week and see how you feel.

If you feel like sharing the joy, post what you are grateful for today!

Burying the Past: Our Addiction to the Story

How often do we tell ourselves—and others—the story of our pain, our illness, our heartbreak? How often do we retell the narrative of everything that’s wrong: in our bodies, our lives, the world?

What effect does this have on us? On our cortisol levels, our inflammation, our nervous systems? On our spiritual and emotional well-being? The truth is, every time we tell that story with emotion and passion, we reinforce it. We breathe new life into our suffering—into our identity as someone who is broken, stuck, or in pain.

Think about how many times you've picked up your phone today, only to see someone else venting their fear, their anger about the state of the world. It’s everywhere. And while ignoring it isn’t the answer, constantly focusing on what’s wrong—without balancing it with what’s right—drains us. It erodes our health, our resilience, our ability to see beauty and possibility.

Healing isn’t just about the physical body, even though that’s often where we focus when things go wrong. Sometimes it feels like we don’t have control over our symptoms, our diagnosis, our pain. But what we can control is our story.

I remember during the Landmark Forum, we had an exercise where we repeated our story—the one about what wasn’t working—again and again until it lost its charge. Eventually, it just felt like... words. Not something we were living. Then we practiced telling a different story. A story about what we wanted. What we were creating. The shift was powerful. It taught me just how much our brain, body, and spirit respond to the stories we choose to tell.

So what story are you telling your body right now? Your mind? Your spirit?

One of the most important tools I’ve learned is simply this: notice. Without judgment. Notice how often you focus on what’s wrong. Notice how often you say it out loud. Every time we re-tell the story of our suffering—with vivid imagery and emotion—we reignite it. Many healing traditions believe this keeps the wound alive. The path forward, then, is to shift from within. To imagine, with that same depth of emotion, the version of life we want to be living. The version of ourselves we want to become.

The healing lineage in which I have been trained, Niasziih, teaches that healing begins with choice. Choice changes everything. And if you need science to back that up, it's out there—on how mindset affects health, how meditation, gratitude, love, and touch impact our biology. But for me, I’m past needing to “prove” it. Since my healing journey began in 1996 as a teenager, I’ve moved from seeker to student to someone who has lived this work. This isn’t just theory to me anymore—it’s embodied wisdom.

We may not always control our circumstances, but we can choose our focus, our imagination, and our inner dialogue. The mainstream media might not report on everyday miracles, but that doesn’t mean they’re not happening. They are. Every single day.

So be the miracle. Choose a story that inspires healing, one you’d be excited to share with your friends, your family, even your doctor. Make it one you can believe—even just a little. Then tell it with your whole heart to yourself and those around you every time you can remember. I promise that focusing on the health, love, and gifts, that you have, will beget more gifts, health and love.
