In South Africa, the need is overwhelming:

➡️ Nearly 15% of the population struggles with addiction.
➡️ 6 out of 10 young people are without work.
➡️ And with so few recovery centers, there’s not enough help to meet the desperate need.

But even in the middle of crisis, God is opening doors.
For years, leaders in South Africa have been praying for a way to bring true recovery and restoration—and now, those prayers are being answered.

Hope Center Ministries is stepping into the story God is already writing in South Africa. Because where addiction has taken hold, hope is rising.

Hope Center Ministries is expanding into South Africa.

Sometimes, God moves so clearly that all you can do is step back and say, “Only He could have done this.”

That’s exactly what’s happening in South Africa.

In just a few days, doors began opening in ways only God could orchestrate—what started as one introduction has now become a powerful partnership, laying the groundwork for a brand-new Hope Center halfway around the world.

“I was fighting addiction, depression, and a lot of self-hate. I didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.

But when I came to Hope Center, something was different. Everyone was so kind — genuinely kind — and I hadn’t experienced that in a long time. They didn’t want anything from me. They just loved me.

At first, I didn’t think God could love someone like me. But through His Word, I realized if He could forgive the people in the Bible, He could forgive me too.

Now I have peace I never imagined. Hope Center helped me find God, find myself, and find a future filled with love, peace, and purpose.”

Stories like Heather’s remind us why we do what we do — to see lives restored through Christ.

What you’re watching is the inauguration of our Hope Center Ministries location in Belize — a powerful celebration to mark the official opening of the center that launched last year.

In the heart of Belize, a nation full of beauty yet burdened by brokenness, something incredible is happening — the cycle of addiction is being broken, and lives are being restored through Christ.

Over 40% of Belize’s population lives in poverty, and addiction has fueled violence, crime, and a rising gang culture. But amid the darkness, a light is shining.

In 2019, Pastor Luis and a passionate team from the Belmopan Church of the Nazarene launched Hedge House, a small Christ-centered recovery program. Four years later, they discovered Hope Center Ministries, visited our U.S. centers, and felt called to bring that same hope home.

That vision came to life in 2024, when the program officially became Hope Center Ministries Belize — offering a proven, faith-based path to recovery, discipleship, and vocational training.

Now, in 2025, we’ve celebrated the inauguration of this incredible center — a moment that marks not just a new facility, but a new beginning for families across Belize.

Through Christ, families are being restored, futures reclaimed, and generations set free.

🙌 Hope is alive in Belize.

His works remind us that He is faithful, and His hands are always at work in our lives. Today, let’s pause to thank Him and rejoice in all He has done.

Every day, overdose claims lives—sons, daughters, parents, and friends. On August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those lost, stand with grieving families, and renew our commitment to bring hope to those still struggling. Overdose is not just a statistic—it’s a soul, a story, a life that mattered.

Awareness is not about shame but compassion. It’s about breaking stigma so healing and recovery can begin.

For Patty Johnson, one of Hope Center’s Admissions Coordinators, this day is personal. She lost her son Tucker to a fentanyl overdose, but her other son, Tyler, found freedom and salvation through Hope Center.

Patty shares: “I’ve lived both sides of this story—the pain of loss and the hope of redemption. That’s why I keep going. Change is real, recovery is possible, and eternity matters.”

This day isn’t just about remembrance.
It’s about fighting for those still here.

Our Hope Center residents had the amazing opportunity to experience VIRginia International Raceway Saturday !

It was a day filled with speed, excitement, and joy something many of our men never thought they’d get to see or be part of.

Moments like these remind us that recovery isn’t just about breaking free from addiction it’s about discovering new life, new opportunities, and new hope.

We are so thankful for the chance to bless our residents with this unforgettable experience. God is truly restoring what was lost and giving them a future full of hope.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

We weren’t created to do life alone. God designed us for community—for brotherhood, sisterhood, and the kind of friendship that steps in when we stumble and says, “You don’t have to stay down.”

In recovery, in faith, and in life, we thrive when we walk together—encouraging, challenging, and carrying each other toward freedom.

“The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” - Matthew 23:11–12

In the Kingdom of God, greatness doesn’t come from being first—it comes from being last. From serving, not striving. From humility, not self-promotion. Jesus flips the script and calls us to a life that isn’t about elevating ourselves, but lifting others up in love and service.

At Hope Center Ministries, we believe true transformation begins in humility—when we surrender our pride, admit our need, and serve others as Christ served us.
