You are NOT alone in your journey with chronic illness. Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been managing health challenges for years, your church family cares deeply about you—and most importantly, Jesus cares.

In our latest conversation, Janet McKinney and Chandler Whitford tackle the hard questions: How do I ask for support? Will anyone understand? What if I feel like a burden? The truth is, 50% of adults face chronic illness, yet so many suffer in silence. It's time to break that isolation.

From gluten-free communion bread to meal support, from prayer partners to simply checking in—there are practical ways we can love each other well. But it starts with honest communication and grace on both sides. Don't let the enemy convince you that nobody cares. Speak up. Ask. Connect. God has gone before you and will never forsake you, and His people are here to walk alongside you—one step at a time.

For those of you who prefer to read rather than listen/watch, check out the recap on the blog!

Living with a chronic illness can feel overwhelming. Learn how to ask your church for support, who to reach out to, and practical ways to find help in a Christian community.

Are you or someone you know facing chronic illness? Janet McKinney helped me record my first podcast answering your questions. Today's question was on how the church can support those with chronic illness, and does the church even care. And for so many hurting people we want you to know that YES we care! We hope this episode encourages you and reminds you that you are seen and loved.

There’s something about being in the garden that slows everything down.

I went out to water the onions… just a normal, everyday task.
But it turned into a reminder I didn’t know I needed.
God is the One who makes things grow.
Not just in the garden—but in our lives too.
And sometimes, He leaves little reminders of His goodness along the way…
(like the surprise duck eggs we found waiting for us 🥚)

It made me wonder how many blessings I miss because I’m moving too fast to notice.
If you need a gentle reminder today:
Look for His goodness.
It’s already there.

I'm working on making my next YouTube video! What questions would you want me to answer in regards to mental health and faith, or who would you like me to have a conversation with?

At CBW Counseling, we believe healing and personal growth don’t happen overnight—they happen through consistency, support, and the right environment. Just like a garden, mental and emotional wellness require preparation, patience, and care.
As we step into a new season, we’re reminded that it’s never too early—or too late—to invest in your mental health. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, relationships, or personal growth, I am here to walk alongside you.

Peace or anxiety grows from the soil of what we consume.
Choose to fill your mind with what is true, lovely, and life-giving — even in what you scroll. 💫
Block that negative group, hide that person who is always complaining. Focus on deep connection, and peace!

Have you ever thought, “I should be grateful… so why do I still feel this heavy?”

Sometimes, faith-filled people carry quiet burdens — anxiety, exhaustion, or the feeling that they “should” be doing better. But God never asked you to heal alone.

Spiritually Integrated Therapy is about more than talking — it’s about inviting God into the process of emotional healing, right where you are.

I’ve shared more about what this kind of therapy looks like — and how it helps you bring both faith and peace into your healing journey.
