From routine exams to surgical procedures and recovery, the BRVH team is always committed to keeping your pet happy and comfortable during their visit. Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital had its beginnings in an old milk house located on Quail Roost Farms in 1983. After several expansions and remodelings we decided that to continue to provide the highest quality of veterinary care possible we would need to design and build a new hospital. With the majority of our clients residing in Durham, Person or Orange Counties, it was necessary to locate a new hospital where it would be convenient for our clients. In the fall of 2005 a 6-acre parcel was purchased at the corner of 501 N. This tract of land had been used previously for a swine operation and personal residence. After 18 months of negotiations, the site was approved for the construction of a new veterinary hospital. During this delay, numerous veterinary facilities were examined for ideas on how to best serve our clients and care of their pets. We wanted to build a facility where “Pets come first”. Construction of our new hospital began in spring of 2007 and we opened our doors to serve the public in November 2007. Our hospital was designed to provide the highest standard of care for our patients while ensuring our clients feel comfortable in their visits.

Pawsitive Pupdate 🐾

From stray to superstar 💛 Charlotte the beagle came to us two months ago in critical condition, needing an emergency blood transfusion and urgent care to survive. Thanks to fast action, incredible teamwork, and a whole lot of love, she pulled through — and today, she’s thriving in her forever home… adopted by none other than Dr. Jeffries’ neighbor! 🐾💉🏡

The beagle in her has definitely come out — she’s full of curiosity, tail wags, and that signature beagle bay. Charlotte has truly blossomed into the happy, healthy pup she was always meant to be. 💕

Kitten Season is among us! 🐱The warmer months bring lots of stray kittens into the world and we are often asked what to do if kittens are found. Please refer to the graphic in this post recently shared by The Animal Protection Society of Durham as to best procedures to follow. If you have been thinking of adopting a kitten or another 4 legged family member there are so many great rescues in the area! Not sure you want to adopt? Fostering can make a world of difference in a shelter pets life. 🐶
