The Knee on Trac system is a specialized piece of equipment designed to provide non-surgical knee decompression therapy — a treatment that gently separates the bones of the knee joint to reduce pressure, improve joint mechanics, and enhance natural healing.

Here’s how it works and why it helps:
🦵 1. Gentle, Controlled Knee Decompression
• The patient sits comfortably in a padded chair with the leg securely positioned.
• The Knee on Trac device applies a precisely controlled traction force to the lower leg, gently pulling it away from the upper leg.
• This creates negative pressure inside the knee joint, reducing compression between the femur and tibia.
🔹 Goal: Relieve pressure on the cartilage, meniscus, and surrounding soft tissues.
💧 2. Increased Joint Space & Fluid Exchange
• By separating the joint surfaces slightly, Knee on Trac helps improve synovial fluid flow — the lubricating fluid inside the joint.
• This increased fluid exchange helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to the cartilage and remove inflammatory waste products.
🔹 Result: Better joint lubrication, less stiffness, and enhanced tissue healing.
⚙️ 3. Targeted Range of Motion and Customized Force
• Each treatment is custom-tailored to the patient’s condition and comfort level.
• The system measures and controls the exact amount of traction force, direction, and duration.
• It can target specific conditions — for example:
o Osteoarthritis: to relieve joint compression
o Meniscus injuries: to reduce load and improve healing
o Post-surgical stiffness or scar tissue: to restore mobility

🌿 4. Pain Relief Through Pressure Reduction
• When joint pressure decreases, mechanical irritation and inflammation are reduced.
• This helps calm pain receptors within the knee and relieves pain naturally — often within the first few sessions.
🔹 Many patients report less aching, better mobility, and easier walking or standing after treatment.

No! Decompression work for the low back (lumbar) AND the neck (cervical).

Cervical decompression is very similar to lumbar decompression, but it’s tailored to the neck (cervical spine).

🔹 How Cervical Decompression Works
You lie on a specialized decompression table, usually on your back with a cushion for your knees.
Your neck is placed in a comfortable cradle with a gentle strap across the forehead.

Computer-Guided Stretching
The machine applies gentle, controlled traction to the cervical spine.
This creates negative pressure inside the spinal discs (a “vacuum effect”).

Disc Rehydration & Pressure Relief
The vacuum effect can help pull bulging or herniated disc material inward, reducing pressure on nearby nerves.
It also allows increased flow of oxygen, water, and nutrients into the discs, which supports healing.

Relaxation & Repetition
The process alternates between gentle pulling and relaxation phases.
Each session typically lasts 15 minutes and feels like a comfortable stretch.

✅ Conditions Cervical Decompression May Help
Herniated or bulging discs in the neck
Pinched nerves causing pain, tingling, or numbness in arms/hands
Degenerative disc disease (cervical)
Cervical radiculopathy (nerve root pain)
Chronic neck stiffness or tension headaches related to disc/nerve compression

⚠️ Safety Notes
It’s non-invasive and drug-free.
Not recommended for people with fractures, severe osteoporosis, spinal instability, tumors, or advanced arthritis in the neck.
Always requires a proper exam, imaging, and clearance before starting.

🔥 Pain Patterns
Sharp, burning, or shooting pain that starts in the lower back or buttock and radiates down the leg

Pain often follows the path of the sciatic nerve — through the back of the thigh, calf, and sometimes into the foot

Usually affects one side of the body

⚡ Nerve-Related Sensations
Numbness or tingling (“pins and needles”) in the leg or foot

Electric shock–like jolts with certain movements (coughing, sneezing, bending, twisting)

🦵 Muscle Effects
Weakness in the leg or foot (difficulty lifting the foot, standing on toes, or bending the knee)

Feeling that the leg may “give out”

⏳ Symptom Triggers & Behavior
Pain worsens with sitting for long periods, standing up, or lifting

Symptoms may improve when lying down or walking (depending on severity and cause)
