The Washington State House Health Care and Wellness Committee has requested the department review a proposal to increase the midwifery scope of practice to assess whether it meets the sunrise criteria in RCW 18.120.010 for expanding a regulated health profession’s scope of practice.

LUNA CIRCLE; a FREE monthly gathering for pregnant and postpartum folks up to 1 year on Bainbridge Island. An inclusive circle for birthing folks to learn, connect, share, and build community. An intentional space to be witnessed and celebrated. This is a laid back, judgement free, come as you are circle. Babies in arms are welcome! We will have free snacks and beverages available, as well as a community resource table featuring local businesses and professionals who serve birthing families.
This is a recurring group held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

JUNE CIRCLE: Wednesday, June 9th from 5:00-6:30pm at Integrated Wellness Center, 164 Knechtel Way on Bainbridge Island.

GUEST SPEAKER: Amanda Wanner of Doula
Amanda provides postpartum care to families after the birth of their new little love. Specializing in postpartum care, sibling care, nutrition, parent child attachment facilitation (as a Circle of Security facilitator), and childcare.

This is a covid safe event - masking will be required and we will be following all social distancing guidelines from Kitsap Public Health and Washington State. Space is limited to 5.

Sophia is an experienced full spectrum doula and placenta encapsulator supporting birthing folks and their families in Kitsap and Jefferson counties. She has experience supporting all types of births in hospitals, community birth centers, and in her client’s homes. She also works as the Venue and Production Coordinator for the Peninsula Birth & Baby Expo. Sophia is passionate about meeting people where they’re at, building resilient communities and relationships, reproductive justice, and intersectionality in Birth work and beyond. She has experienced first hand the deep healing, growth, and empowerment that is cultivated and nurtured within the safety of an intentional, non-judgemental support system, and is honored to have the opportunity to facilitate that space for others.

Dr. Diana Wang, DC is a practicing chiropractor at Integrated Wellness Center, a family-based wellness practice on Bainbridge Island. She has advanced training in Pregnancy and Pediatric chiropractic care, and is passionate about supporting and expanding compassionate, holistic healthcare. Diana brings a rich, diverse set of work and educational experiences. Her passion for pregnancy and pediatric care comes not only from personal experience, but also from working with people through various physical and physiological changes through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Diana has seen the transformational and empowering process of birth on families, as well as the importance of support and connection through the process. She is excited to help grow and connect the perinatal community and the community of dedicated birth workers.
