Physicians, leaders and clinicians at Memorial Hospital and Manor are proud to announce that the Center for Advanced Wound Healing has been awarded the prestigious Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. This Center has scored in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics® Wound Care Centers® on the Clinical Excellence measure, which is the Comprehensive Healing Rate weighted by wound mix. This award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

Memorial Hospital and Manor is proud to announce that the Center for Advanced Wound Healing has also earned the Center of Distinction Award, making this center a 3 consecutive year recipient of this honor. Center of Distinction is achieved by showing outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional care and dedication demonstrated by the Center’s physicians, leaders, and clinicians.

WOUND CARE WEDNESDAY: Wound Care for Diabetics...
1. Protect the wound from bacteria immediately.
2. Wash the wound well with saline or clean tap water.
3. Apply antibiotics ointment after washing to keep wound moist.
4. Cover the wound with a bandage to control drainage and protect it. Change the bandage and repeat this process every 1-2 days.
5. Keep pressure off the wound as much as possible.
