What does rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility actually help with?

Rehabilitation in an SNF is a structured part of recovery designed to help residents improve function after illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization. Depending on the resident's conditions, therapy may focus on strength, balance, mobility, endurance, transfers, and activities of daily living.

Physical therapy often addresses gait training, mobility, transfer ability, and fall risk reduction.
Occupational therapy focuses on self-care tasks, upper extremity function, and adapting daily activities safely.
Speech therapy may help address swallowing, communication, and cognitive-communication deficits when those areas have been affected.

In Height Street Skilled Care, rehabilitation is based on each resident's clinical status, functional limitations, and individualized goals. The objective is to support measurable progress, improve safety, and help each resident reach the highest practicable level of independence.

Yesterday we celebrated our resident Emeteria's 106th birthday, what an incredible milestone! 🎉🎂

At 106, she continues to stay active, enjoys socializing in the mornings, and loves to walk to places. She even danced at her own birthday celebration, bringing smiles to everyone who joined the party.
