Today, we pause to honor the hardworking men and women who keep our nation moving forward. From first responders who protect and serve our communities, to the countless individuals who build, create, and care for others—your dedication and resilience are the foundation of our country.

A little history: Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, born out of the labor movement’s fight for fair working conditions and recognition of the dignity of work. It stands as a reminder of the progress made—and the importance of valuing every worker’s contribution.
