Kevin and Kevin met one another prior to starting optometry school at UC Berkeley and quickly became close friends. During school, they each honed their clinical knowledge at different rotation sites including the Fresno, San Jose, and Tacoma Veteran's Administrations as well as at various community hospitals. Outside of clinic, they each conducted research and graduated with honors with a focus on myopia control and retinal imaging. The two had dreams of combining their knowledge to provide outstanding care and were able to make that dream a reality that is K+K Optometric Eye Care. Dr. Kevin Wang received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of California San Diego and his Doctorate degree with honors in research from the University of California Berkeley. During his time at UC Berkeley, Dr. Wang was active in research and still continues to collaborate with ongoing projects at University of California Berkeley. His main focus in research was identifying the integrin receptors within the sclera that may alter the biomechanical stability in those with pathological myopia. Dr. Kevin Tong was born in California, but grew up in Tucson, AZ. He received his undergraduate degree in physiology at the University of Arizona. He then returned to California to attend the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. He completed clinical training at the American Lake and Fresno Veteran's Affairs hospitals, Castle Eye Center in Atwater, and Highland Hospital in Oakland where he learned to manage many ocular conditions.
