November 6-7 is the 8th annual Campout Against Cancer, held at Kaiser Permanente Sports Village. This annual event was created by local people, organized, operated by local people, and benefits all people of Kern County in their first against cancer. Some of you may have been the beneficiary of this foundation, helping you with the ever-rising cost of care and treatments.
Rio Bravo Cancer Center (RBCC) and I have joined the fund-raising campaign, and we are one of the Team Challenge Sponsor this year. We will be there for the event, and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

It used to be www.bflho.com, but with the new formation of an entity that sounds identical (BFLHO GROUP) and confuses some patients, I want to re-affirm what Bakersfield Hematology Oncology do, our mission, our expertise, professionalism, our care, and approach to patients.

Thank you for all the prayers and outpouring of support during our recent crisis. Your support and prayers have made us even stronger and better. As I often say to others, when a door is closed, God opens another door. It is my turn to live up to it, and BFLHO could not have done it without God and without you.

Some people have been very confused about this whole situation, and rightly so. For the purpose of clarifications:
Bakersfield Hematology Oncology GROUP is a completely un-related entity, independent from Dr. Nguyen's medical practice, Bakersfield Hematology Oncology. Dr. Nguyen formed his medical practice 14 years ago, in May 2007. This BFL GROUP was formed some time in 11/2020 by Dr. Elizabeth Leynes-Le, who is a pediatrician practicing in Antioch, California. All of this is public information that can be easily found.
The matter under investigation is how some of Dr. Nguyen's patients' personal data ended up with this new GROUP, allowing them to contact these patients by mail and by phone.
Some patients were defrauded into thinking it was all the same entity, same staff, same care, and saw the doctor(s) of that GROUP. These patients found out soon enough, and have since returned to Dr. Nguyen and his staff for their medical needs.

We need patients to be aware of this and not unknowingly accept the care from someone who does not know them - that can be dangerous. There have been patients showing up at Dr. Nguyen's old location, and were given treatments without anyone knowing what the patients have and what the treatments were for. This is certainly not how a normal physician would deliver care.

Please inform those you know. Due to this abrupt event forcing Dr. Nguyen and his staff out of the medical office space, not all patients have been reached.

We now have the "UPDATES" section on the site www.BFLHOBREACH.info. Some public documents will be posted over time after they have been duly verified.

It looks like most of you have found us, and all our staff have been happy to see the familiar faces again.
Thank you Rio Bravo Cancer Center, its physicians, staff, for having graciously accommodated us and all our beloved patients. That has allowed us to continue with treatments and avoid disruptions.

The entire staff are working around the clock to maintain patient care. You will get calls from our staff, and an official letter from Dr. Nguyen later.

Meanwhile, the old phone system may still make automated calls to you for appointments. Please disregard them.
