The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes both joy and heartache—often in the very same breath. I pray for those of you missing someone this year, whether they should have been here and are not or have been gone for many years. I pray for the moms who have lost their child and never had the chance to sing them their first lullaby or witness their firsts. I pray for every parent who wakes up each morning wondering what their child might have been doing today. I pray that each of you sense the presence of your lost one in a subtle fragrant note of a fresh picked flower, the brilliance of a rainbow or quietness of a full moon night. Truly, I am so sorry for your loss.
Suffering is perhaps the greatest mystery of the human condition, yet through the lens of faith we know we are neither abandoned nor forsaken. Our suffering is not without purpose; it allows us to participate in a profound unity that connects us to one another in a way nothing else can. In a world that often feels divided, may we find solidarity in our shared stories of heartache and tears.
We are eternally grateful for the prayers you have lifted for us, and for those you may continue to offer.
May God bless you all with his serenity, now and in your seasons of suffering.
All my love, Sabrina
