✨🎉 First Parent & Me of the New Year! 🎉✨

We’re excited to gather tomorrow from 10:30 AM–12:00 PM for our Parent & Me Group (Ages 0–5) — a warm, welcoming space where families can connect, share experiences, and let little ones play in a safe, nurturing environment. 💛

This group is perfect for families who are new to the Down syndrome journey and for those who have been walking it for years.

👉 Seasoned parents — you are especially valued here.
Your encouragement, knowledge, and “we’ve been there too” moments mean so much to new families who may be navigating big emotions and new diagnoses. Your presence truly makes a difference. 💙

Come as you are — no RSVP needed. Whether you stay for a little while or the whole time, you’ll find connection, understanding, and a community that celebrates every milestone.

📍 We meet in the nursery area at New Life Church (near the Español and Youth buildings — not the main sanctuary).
If you’re unsure where to go, just send us a message and we’ll help guide you in — you never have to walk in alone. 💛

🌟 Introducing our Second Saturday Speaker Series! 🌟

Our monthly Family Gatherings are growing — and are now officially our Second Saturday Speaker Series. Each month, we’ll bring in speakers and topics that help families feel informed, supported, and empowered.

This January, we’re diving into California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP) — a pathway that gives individuals and families more voice, choice, and flexibility in how supports are designed and funded.

🎤 Guest Speaker: Kristina Grubb, BCBA & Independent Facilitator
Kristina will walk families through SDP in clear, plain language — including:

✨ How it’s different from traditional regional center services
✨ Examples of supports SDP funds may cover
✨ How budgets and funding pathways work
✨ What “person-centered planning” really looks like
✨ Steps to get started — plus time for your questions

At Once Upon a Runway, characters leap from imagination to reality through bold costumes, dramatic styling, and creativity brought to life by professional salon artists.

Our cast is created for adults with Down syndrome, age 18 and older, and every registered, eligible, participant with Down syndrome will be featured as a runway model. Each individual becomes the inspiration for a one-of-a-kind character that only they can bring to life.
