😀 Your breathing influences nearly every organ in your body.

😀 It does much more than deliver oxygen. The way you breathe can shape how you think and feel. It can affect your heart rate, help lower blood pressure, ease stress, reduce anxiety, and even lessen the perception of pain. It also plays a role in mental clarity by influencing your body’s internal balance.

😀 It’s no accident that controlled breathing is central to many ancient practices, from meditation to yogic traditions.

πŸ“šπŸ’» Join us for our new 4-week class every Thursday starting May 21st at 1 PM EST and learn how to manage your anxiety and stress, and control your response to strong emotional situations. Regain your self-confidence with our breath techniques, along with ways to unfreeze your fight or flight reaction to situations that are out of your control.

😯 Just as we prioritize dental hygiene through daily brushing and flossing, we must also care for our emotional hygiene and health. This involves adopting daily practices to monitor and heal from emotional wounds.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» However, we often neglect our emotional well-being. Why do we spend more time caring for our teeth than for our minds? While we brush and floss consistently, what actions do we take to nurture our mental health?

🦷 The consequences of ignoring emotional hygiene can be far worse than those of neglecting dental care. Would you rather lose a tooth or your mental clarity?

πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Our focus tends to lean heavily toward physical health, leaving little room for psychological care. Consider the habits you’ve developed for your physical healthβ€”diet changes, exercise routines, regular check-ups, and over-the-counter remedies.

πŸ€” Now, think about the habits you’ve adopted for your psychological health.

❓ Do you address feelings of failure or rejection?
❓ Are you aware of how negative self-talk affects your resilience?

βŒ› If you find yourself saying "no" to these questions, it’s time to give your emotional hygiene the attention it deserves.

⁉️ How can you Reclaim your Calm in Mind and Body

🫁 The benefits of deep breathing

😌 Reclaiming emotional calm involves a combination of immediate "in-the-moment" tools to disrupt stress and long-term habits to build resilience.

🫁 Immediate strategies include practicing deep breathing, using grounding techniques, and setting healthy boundaries. These methods help shift the nervous system from a "fight or flight" response to a calmer, parasympathetic state.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Several ways to self-help, self-soothe, and calm are: Naming your Emotions, Say "No" Exercise, Crying, Limiting Screen Time, and Dancing to relieve tension. πŸ’ƒ

Join me on Thursday, May 21st, to Regain Your Calmness with "The Lorrie Method."

πŸ“š Learn NOW How to Self-Soothe and Calm Your Emotions! βš–οΈ

πŸ˜€ Don't Worry - Be Happy πŸ™‚

🀯 When we neglect our emotions, we often distort our perception of the world, amplifying unpleasant experiences. For example, feeling angry can lead us to perceive others as angry, while sadness or anxiety can cloud our judgment. This cycle continues unchecked unless we make an effort to redirect it toward a healthier path. Recognizing this, we can look at how awareness offers an alternative.

😲 Cultivating awareness allows us to recognize our emotions more clearly and respond with less resistance. We identify our mental habits and consciously choose to pause rather than react immediately. Negative feelings tend to dominate our attention, pulling us into a spiral of harmful thoughts, such as β€œI can’t take care of myself.” This can turn a minor setback into a crisis fueled by fear and doubt, causing us to avoid helpful activities and connections.

πŸ€” Through mindfulness, we can acknowledge our emotions without judgment. We might remind ourselves, β€œI’m in a bad mood; it’s not my fault or anyone else’s, and it will pass.” Instead of ignoring or reacting impulsively, we can focus on constructive activities that alleviate intense feelings, seek comfort, and plan our next positive step forward on a challenging day.

❓Do you recognize when you are in need of Emotional Rescue?
❓ Did you realize that negative emotions can have a long-term impact on your physical health? πŸ‘‰πŸ» πŸ‘‰πŸ» According to Psychology Today, researchers have identified a correlation between negative moods and inflammation in the body. "The researchers found that positive moods are associated with less inflammation in some people, whereas negative moods β€” such as feeling angry, grumpy, or gloomy β€” are associated with higher levels of inflammation across the board."

🀯 When we experience strong emotions, we need to use the 4 R's to help us face and work through them: Recognize, Relax, Reframe, and Respond!

πŸ“š Learning how to be Emotionally Mindful is a vital survival skill, not just a self-help concept. When we don't pay attention, those "unattended emotions" act like a silent autopilot, making choices for us that don't align with our actual goals. Find out how you can use Emotional Mindfulness in our 4-week Program Introduction to Emotional Healing! Link here

πŸ“¬ You are INVITED to Learn How to Regulate Your Emotional Situation

πŸ‘‰πŸ» According to the Cleveland Clinic, "Emotional dysregulation means having difficulty managing your emotions and the way you react to them. When this happens, your feelings or reactions might seem stronger or more intense than what others might expect in a given situation."
Unregulated emotions can affect you in many ways, such as how you feel, speak, and act. Some of the common signs and symptoms are:
* Behaving impulsively
* Emotions that get in the way of setting or reaching goals
* Feeling frustrated easily by small problems or issues
* Having trouble calming down once you feel upset or feeling emotionally β€œout of control.”
* Losing your temper often
* Mood swings
* Ongoing irritability or anger between outbursts
* Saying or doing things you later regret when upset
* Shutting down or going numb when overwhelmed (feeling β€œblank,” zoning out or withdrawing)

🀯 At times, strong emotions can burst outward, like yelling or slamming doors. Other times, they turn inward, such as becoming quiet or withdrawing. Both are natural ways your mind and body cope when emotions feel overwhelming.
