✅ Forward-facing with a harness until outgrown.
✅ Booster seat until seat belt fits properly (usually 4’9” tall).

🧠 Concussions Are Serious! Learn the Signs.

It’s Concussion Awareness Day, a reminder that even mild head injuries can have serious effects, especially in kids and teens.

Common signs to watch for after a bump or blow to the head:

⚠️ Headache or pressure in the head.
⚠️ Dizziness or balance problems.
⚠️ Blurred vision.
⚠️ Confusion or trouble concentrating.
⚠️ Nausea or vomiting.
⚠️ Unusual mood changes.

If your child shows any of these symptoms after a fall, sports injury or accident:

🚨 Stop activity immediately and seek medical care. Don’t try to “tough it out.”

If your child gets a splinter:

Wash your hands and the area with soap and water.

Use sterilized tweezers to gently remove it.

Clean again, apply ointment and cover with a bandage.

Watch for redness, swelling or pus — see a doctor if these appear or if it’s deep/in a sensitive spot.

🚴‍♀️ Ride Smart. Ride Safe.

Whether it’s a short trip around the block or a daily ride to an activity, bike safety starts with the right gear and good habits.

✅ Wear a helmet every ride. A properly fitted helmet can cut head injury risk by 45%!

🔍 3-Step Helmet Fit Test:
• Eyes — 2 fingers above eyebrows.
• Ears — Straps form a “V” under the ears.
• Mouth — Strap should hug the chin when mouth is open.

🌟 Be visible, Wear bright clothing or add reflectors/lights.
📜 Know the rules of the road. Ride with traffic, obey signals and stay alert for cars and pedestrians.

Bathtime can be a fun bonding moment, but safety always comes first!

Keep little ones safe in the tub:
✅ Stay within arm’s reach. Never leave a child unattended, even for a moment.
✅ Check water temp. Aim for about 100°F to avoid burns.
✅ Slip-proof the tub. Use a non-slip mat to prevent falls.
✅ Keep essentials close. Soap, towel and toys within reach so you can keep your eyes on your child.
✅ Limit bath toys. Fewer toys mean less clutter and safer play.

International Overdose Awareness Day reminds us that overdose impacts people of all ages—including teens and children affected by substance use in their families or communities.

Creating safe, age-appropriate conversations and environments helps children feel supported, seen, and heard.

Together, we can reduce stigma and foster understanding for all families navigating this challenge.

Clean air matters—especially for growing lungs.

Poor air quality can affect children more than adults, especially those with asthma or allergies.
