We are thrilled to announce a significant enhancement to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) services! Memorial Hospital is now offering Therapeutic Hypothermia (Brain Cooling), a critical treatment for newborns who have experienced oxygen deprivation at birth (HIE).

This advanced program allows our expert team to gently lower a baby's body temperature for 72 hours. Brain cooling reduces the risk of severe brain damage and gives babies a better chance at a future free from long-term neurological problems. Bringing this program to Memorial Hospital means more local families will have access to this essential care, right when their babies need it most. Tune in to hear Bettina Kinsman, NICU Manager at Memorial Hospital discuss the impact this program will have in Kern County.

It’s . Kindness isn’t only good for others; it’s good for you. Research shows that acts of kindness may help reduce stress, ease anxiety and depression, increase happiness and life satisfaction, strengthen relationships, and support physical health.

Kindness is also contagious. When we witness it, we are more likely to pass it on. Every small act makes a difference, whether it’s a smile, a helping hand, or a thoughtful word.
