Hospice Quality Assurance Position – Remote (California-Based Company)
A California-based hospice company is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist with a strong hospice background. The ideal candidate must have expertise in HospiceMD, certification periods, Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings, and Certification of Terminal Illness (CTI). Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in nursing, medical social work (MSW), and physician documentation quality assurance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Extensive hospice experience with a strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in HospiceMD for documentation review and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of certification periods, IDT processes, and CTI requirements.
• Ability to assess and ensure quality standards in nursing, MSW, and physician documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with the hospice team.
• Work-from-home position – must have a reliable internet connection, a computer or laptop with a working video camera and microphone for virtual meetings and training.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, an ideal chance for WHO and partners to raise awareness of cervical cancer and vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer. Together, we can strive to end cervical cancer within a few generations.

This year, Cervical Cancer Awareness Month aims to highlight the importance of increasing access to HPV vaccines, regular screening, and state-of-the-art treatment for cervical cancer in its early stages. Our shared objective is to dramatically reduce the occurrence of cervical cancer by 2030 and to eliminate the disease as a public health problem by 2120.

Glaucoma is called “THE SNEAK THIEF OF SIGHT” since there are no symptoms and once vision is lost, it’s permanent. As much as 40% of vision can be lost without a person noticing.

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. Moreover, among African American and Latino populations, glaucoma is more prevalent. Glaucoma is 6 to 8 times more common in African Americans than Caucasians.

Over 3 million Americans, and 80 million people worldwide, have glaucoma. Experts estimate that half of them don’t know they have it. Combined with our aging population, we can see an epidemic of blindness looming if we don’t raise awareness about the importance of regular eye examinations to preserve vision. The World Health Organization estimates that 4.5 million people worldwide are blind due to glaucoma.

January Is Thyroid Awareness Month, which raises awareness to thyroid-related diseases and thyroid cancer.

The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate the body's metabolic rate, growth and development. It plays a role in controlling heart, muscle and digestive function, brain development and bone maintenance. Its correct functioning depends on a good supply of iodine from the diet. It also makes hormones that control the way the body uses energy. These hormones affect nearly every organ in your body and control many of your body's most important functions.

Problems with the thyroid can be caused by: iodine deficiency. autoimmune diseases — when your immune system attacks your thyroid — such as Graves' disease or Hashimoto's disease. inflammation (thyroiditis), which may or may not cause pain.

If your thyroid is overactive and produces too many hormones, your body uses energy too quickly and you can develop hyperthyroidism. This can be dangerous because it can cause your heart to beat faster and weight loss without trying. If left untreated, it can lead to serious heart, bone and other problems.

Thanksgiving is commonly known as a way to commemorate the colonial Pilgrims' harvest meal that they shared with Wampanoag Indians (who "were key to the survival of the colonists during the first year they arrived in 1620") in 1621 (although there is controversy about whether or not the meal was originally intended to be shared).
