Bringing Baby Home Bakersfield

Hello! I’m Kristen Shadle. I’m a wife, mother, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Certified Bringing Baby Home Educator. After having my son in 2017, the challenges that come with being a new parent became abundantly clear to me! There were so many new things to learn, new challenges to face and so many adjustments to be made when my husband and I went from just being a couple to being parents! As a new mom and an LMFT, my interest in perinatal mental health was sparked, as was my interest in helping couples make the transition into parenthood more smoothly. In 2018, I completed 45 hours of training to become a lactation counselor and I attended my first perinatal mental health training. After completing these trainings, I found Gottman’s Bringing Baby Home program and knew that I needed to learn more! In April 2019, I had the opportunity to complete the Bringing Baby Home training and become a Certified Bringing Baby Home Educator. After completing this training, I came home and told my husband, “I wish this program had been available to us when I was pregnant!” Now, I am excited to be able to offer this program to couples here in Bakersfield and Kern County. I will be offering my first Bringing Baby Home workshop in September 2019 at The Nest and Company @thenestandco in Bakersfield. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
