✨Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)🌟
is an enlargement of the lower part of the aorta, the major blood vessel supplying blood to the body. Smoking is a significant risk factor for AAA.

🌟 Key Facts on Smoking and AAA:

🌟Smoking increases risk: Smokers are 3 to 5 times more likely to develop an AAA than non-smokers.
🌟Progression: Smoking accelerates the growth of an aneurysm, increasing the chance of rupture.
🌟Rupture risk: The risk of an aneurysm rupturing is higher in smokers due to the weakening of the aortic walls.
🌟Quitting helps: Stopping smoking reduces the risk of AAA growth and rupture, though former smokers still have a higher risk than those who never smoked.
🌟Inflammation: Smoking promotes inflammation and atherosclerosis, contributing to AAA formation.

Overall, smoking is the most preventable cause of AAA development and complications.
