What is co-depency? How can God help me in this area?

CR helps reframe boundaries as:
Loving, not selfish
Biblical, not unkind
Protective, not punitive

You’ll learn:
You can say no without guilt
You are not responsible for fixing others
Love does not require self-abandonment
“Let your ‘Yes’ be yes, and your ‘No,’ no.” — Matthew 5:37

Co-dependency is when a person's need for approval or validation from others allows them to be controlled or manipulated, or that person might even attempt to do the same to someone else. Here are a few characteristics:

- Assuming responsibility for other's feelings and behaviors.
- Having difficulty identifying or expressing your own feelings
- Worrying about how others might respond to your feelings, opinions, or behaviors.
- Over-functioning to be needed, valued, or loved.
- Overly caring for others at the expense of your own needs.
- Being extremely loyal to the point of remaining in harmful situations too long.
- Tolerating and justifying abuse from others.

Set boundaries, accept Jesus as your Higher Power, and realize that you are not responsible for how others may think or feel about you.

🎄✨Merry Christmas Forever Family✨🎄
This Christmas our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for each & every one of you. Through the hurts, habits & hang ups, we have witnessed Gods redeeming love, healing power & unshakable hope at work in this community. Because of Jesus, we celebrate freedom, restoration & new beginnings. Thank you to all for showing up, loving boldly, walking honestly & reminding one another that we do recover together.

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, may his peace fill your homes, his grace strengthen your hearts & his hope guide you all into a new year filled with purpose and faith.

Thank you to our Pastors & our incredible church community for welcoming & supporting the Celebrate Recovery ministry. Thank you for believing in God’s redemptive work, for creating a safe place for healing & for allowing this ministry to be a part of the heart of our church.

Your prayers, encouragement, leadership & support make it possible for lives to be transformed & hope to be restored. Because of your obedience & faith people are finding freedom from hurts, habits & hang ups through the love of Jesus Christ.

There are so much more of you to tag in this message. We love all of you. Thank you for being apart of our 2025 with us.

I just wanted to share and send out an invite to anyone who'd like to attend with me there are wonderful events at valley Baptist going on every weekend for Christmas. This Sunday at 4pm and 6pm is the holy one Christmas production. Powerful music and live drama. We have CR family in the choir too. Then on dec 21 is the candlelight service again at 4pm and 6pm. Beautiful service you dont want to miss. You dont have to be a member to attend. Bring the whole family. Its a must see event. I go every year.
