This week we celebrated Assisted Living week in our senior communities. It was a wonderful time spent with the staff of Hallmark Assisted Living. This amazing staff is so dedicated to their residents and we are so lucky to work closely with them in the care of our wonderful seniors.

Yesterday Bakersfield Community Healthcare (Home Health, Hospice, Companion Care and Adult Day Center) made a quick round/trip to Paris! ✨

Berets, beignets, croissants and plenty of pastries set the stage as we celebrated Assisted Living Week at Magnolia Place Senior Living.

National Assisted Living Week is more than just fun activities - it’s a chance to connect with residents and, just as importantly, to honor the staff who give their love, respect, and compassion 24/7.

Our “mini vacation to Paris” is nothing compared to the care they provide every single day, but it was our heartfelt way of saying:

Thank Yous goes out to Sebastian Rodriguez for coordinating our Paris Venue Table and to Justina Howell and Yaciry Ramirez for being our tour guides.

Our very own Justina Howell puts her heart and soul into the Boogie with B*H classes. So many of our community seniors and veterans benefit from and love attending these classes.
This KERN KINDNESS spotlight aired on KERO TV Ch. 23 today and shared the passion and love that Justina puts into her job every day. Thank you Justina!

A local veteran liaison is bringing together veterans, seniors, and individuals with health challenges through inclusive movement classes that promote connection, healing, and joy.

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes 🇺🇸

Bakersfield Community Healthcare had the profound honor of hosting a heartfelt ceremony at Solstice Senior Living Community. Surrounded by residents, staff, and families, we came together to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The program included a moment of silence, the playing of “Taps,” and reflections shared by veterans and community members — reminding us all of the deep cost of freedom and the importance of honoring those who served.

We are incredibly grateful to the Solstice Senior Living Community for partnering with us and to everyone who participated in making the event so meaningful. Memorial Day is a time to reflect, remember, and come together in unity — and we were proud to stand in remembrance with a community that truly values its heroes. Thank you to all who joined us in honoring their legacy. 🇺🇸💐

Bakersfield Community Healthcare is so proud of our very own Justina Howell for being honored at the recent American Heart Association's Kern County Heart Ball. Justina was recognized for her own personal and family experience with heart conditions as well as the passionate work she does with her "Boogie with B*H" senior movement and exercise program that she conducts at senior living communities throughout Bakersfield.

Thank you to Centre for Neuro Skills for inviting Bakersfield Community Healthcare to present all of the services we provide in our community.

Justina Howell started us off by giving a sample of our Boogie with B*H movement classes that Justina provides in multiple senior living communities in Bakersfield.

Then Dee Romo talked about our caregiving and companion care services that are so valuable in allowing individuals who need personal care and companionship to remain in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home.

And last but not least, Kim, our Director of Patient Care Services, presented the basics of Home Health Care skilled nursing and in-home rehab therapy for patients that find it physically difficult to leave the home on a regular basis. And finally touching on the compassionate care of Hospice care for loved ones with a life limiting diagnosis.

Also, a big thank you to Don Perico Mexican Grill for the delicious lunch and finally to Justin Thompson the CNS Community Liaison for being a wonderful Host and providing an informative and detailed tour and explanation of CNS's mission and valuable services to our community.

Our Adult Day Health and Activity Center participants had a great time celebrating St. Patrick's Day with lots of Music, delicious food and games. Mr. Leprechaun even showed up!

We would like to thank our caregivers Rikki Cromwell, Lisa Anderson, Maria Becerra, and Alexis Edwards for their hard work and efforts they put in everyday with our Health Center participants. We appreciate you all!

Always looking for a reason to celebrate, Bakersfield Community Adult Day Activity and Health Center wasn't done after our Valentine's Day event, so we held a Carnival event on Monday.
Participants enjoyed a delicious breakfast, lunch, Nachos, Cotton Candy, games and music. Fun was had by all!
