Given the current situation in our world, it is with much consideration, and hesitation, that I have decided to suspend all face-to-face appointments until further notice, effective immediately. As this is a fluid situation, and CDC and health department guidelines are changing quickly, my policy may change at any time. I will keep you updated as I make any changes.
This decision was made out of an abundance of caution for my family. As most of my clients are aware, my husband continues to be treated for Valley Fever; a condition which places him in the high-risk category for COVID-19. With that in mind, I have decided to limit the number of people coming to my home.
Please understand that this was not an easy decision to make, especially since I believe that therapeutic services are needed now more than ever. Please have patience. Scheduling telehealth appointments may vary from your regular appointment times. Also, I am in the process of researching various telehealth options that are in compliance with current HIPAA and HITECH standards.
As of this moment, COVID-19 is not known to be present in Kern County (according to the latest reports). Please remember CAUTION IS SAFER THAN PANIC. I encourage everyone to be mindful of the current situation. Please avoid adhering to rumors or random internet posts. Instead, please continue to monitor reports from the CDC, as I am continuing to do.
Please contact me with any questions you may have. As a therapist, I CANNOT advise you on anything other than how to cope with present concerns. I have attached an extremely helpful article on mental health concerns provided by the WHO. I strongly encourage you to read it, as it has many helpful tips on how to cope with the current pandemic.
Please be safe and take care. We are all in this together.
