Our Story

Kern County Genealogical Society (KCGS) was established in 1964 with 57 Charter members. Joyce Bayless is the only charter member who is currently active. The society currently serves over 100 members and is active and involved in the community.

KCGS is dedicated to remembering and making connections to the past and the families who came before us. Our members’ ancestors have all contributed to the social and economic development of Kern County and our country. Perhaps your ancestors were here. Remember their stories and their lives; and pass on their histories by joining the Kern County Genealogical Society.
