Position Title: Firefighter/Engineer
Department: Spruce Pine Fire Department
Location: Spruce Pine, North Carolina
Starting Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 (Depending on Certifications and Experience)

Position Summary:
The Spruce Pine Fire Department is currently seeking dedicated and motivated individuals for the position of Firefighter. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and the opportunity to serve a supportive community while advancing your career in the fire and emergency services field. While simultaneously working with volunteer firefighters.

Minimum Qualifications:
NC Firefighter Level II Certification
Emergency Vehicle Driver (EVD)
EMT-Basic Certification (NC or National Registry)
Valid Class B Driver’s License
ICS 100, 200, 700, 800

Preferred Qualifications:
Driver/Operator – Pumper or Aerial
Technical Rescue Certification(s)
Additional relevant certifications and training are a plus

Key Responsibilities:
Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies
Operate emergency vehicles and firefighting equipment safely and effectively
Perform fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical care duties
Participate in training, drills, and community outreach programs
Assist in station maintenance, equipment checks, and documentation

Other requirements:

Applicant will be subject to criminal Background checks
And submit to drug tests on request
Have to be able to pass a physical agility test and pump operations test
Work
40-hour workweeks; subject to emergency call-backs

Crew members Autumn, Lacy, Jimmy and Peyton worked the Alien festival today.

As you can see, hands only CPR was taught at our booth. The crew even had some fun with an alien. I don't think it worked out for the Alien.

On a more serious note, we are very glad everyone had a good time and there were no serious injuries.
