✨In March 2025, Pinecrest was recognized as the first "City of Happiness" in the United States by the World Happiness Foundation. The certification was celebrated during the World Happiness Fest, held at Pinecrest Gardens, with over 500 participants, including leaders, wellness advocates, and public officials. The recognition is the result of the Happy Pinecrest People Initiative (HaPPI), a year-long plan that involved focus groups, resident surveys, and a 62-page document. The project followed the Foundation’s model, which promotes inclusive governance, emotional well-being, and shared values as pillars for human flourishing in communities.
