✨ How long does a facelift last? ✨

Many patients ask this question, and this lovely woman is a wonderful example.

She leads an active, outdoor lifestyle, wears very little makeup, and teaches yoga and Pilates. She had her first facelift in her 50s and 10 years later, chose to have a second facelift in her 70s—and she still looks fantastic. Most importantly, she looks natural, refreshed, and age-appropriate. She looks like herself—just well-rested and happy. This, to me, is exactly what a facelift should represent:

Many women worry that removing their breast implants will leave them feeling disappointed or “deflated.” In reality, that’s often not the case.

This patient originally had her implants placed many years ago, when she was much thinner. Over time—like many women—she gained about 20 pounds, especially through menopause. When she experienced a spontaneous deflation on the left side, she was suddenly faced with an important decision: replace the implants or remove them entirely.

After discussing all options, she chose complete implant removal (EXPLANT) . She had also been feeling top-heavy and was ready for a more natural look.

In patients who gain weight over time, I often recommend liposuction of the underarm area (axilla) and breast tails, which helps refine the contour and can even provide a subtle lifting effect.

What surprises many patients is that after implant removal, the natural breast tissue often becomes fuller over the next 2–3 months as everything settles.

The majority of patients in this situation are ultimately much happier without their implants than they expected—and feel more comfortable, balanced, and confident.

My wife, son and I just spent a few days after Christmas in London, which never disappoints 🇬🇧 From historic landmarks like the Churchill war rooms, to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich and river boat rides down the Thames, this trip was the perfect blend of tradition, culture, and unforgettable moments. We loved shopping at Harrods, bond street and Goyards, as well as walks in Hyde park and along the Thames below Big Ben. We were so lucky our good friends, Regine and Bill Pickard flew up from the south of France to show us around and spend evenings enjoying great meals at the RAF club and Shepards market. I have to say that my favorite was the famous Afternoon Tea at the Grosvenor House on Hyde park. What a magical experience!!
There’s something about London: the history layered into the streets, the effortless elegance, and the feeling that no matter how many times you visit, there’s always more to discover. Grateful for the memories, the pace change, and the inspiration this city always brings. Until next time. ✨

I saw this article last week and thought it would be important for patients to know that the micro- needling RF (radio frequency) devices can have many side effects, such as nerve injury, prolonged numbness and tingling, as well as fat atrophy and contour deformities. In my surgical practice, I am very cautious about doing face and neck lifts on patients who have had these RF treatments; because, it decreases the blood supply to the skin and causes wound healing issues postoperatively. This has increased the need for hyperbaric oxygen therapy in order to improve blood flow and diminish the chance of scarring. The primary problematic devices are Proteus, Morpheus8, profound RF, genius RF and secret RF to just name a few. I would recommend everyone considering microneedling with RF to be very careful, especially under the eyelid area, where we see a lot of fat atrophy or Hallowing of the lower eyelid area. I noticed this about six or seven years ago and completely stopped using RF, Back then. Finally, the FDA has issued a strong warning. I would also recommend that you tell your surgeon if you have had any RF microneedling treatments before having any facial surgeries.

Today was our ‘Dr B’s’ holiday lunch for the OR staff at Christiana care Surgicenter. All year, long,my wonderful nurses and our OR staff look forward to this fabulous luncheon which my wife makes every year. They work so hard for my patients and take such good care of us; do, we wanted to do something nice for them to say thanks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody!!

We just saw this lovely 67 year-old woman, two months after a deep plane facelift and she couldn’t be happier. She had her face first facelift when she was in her 50s and came back to me for her second one to just “freshen up”!! Keeping patients age-appropriate and natural looking is really the key to a great facelift. At this visit, I did her fillers to complement the facelift and was able to soften the lines that didn’t resolve with the fat transplant, I did during her surgery. I always do the fillers myself so that I can keep my patients looking natural rather than handing them off to a nurse or PA for their ‘fine tuning’. I believe this helps me to maintain a good relationship with my patients. I help manage their aging process so that they don’t look too unnatural. That’s the secret.

We just had our annual, Office, Christmas brunch at the lovely Urban Farmer restaurant in the Logan Hotel, Philadelphia. My whole staff came and I was able to thank them all for a the great job they did this year!! I feel blessed to have such a great group of people working with me!! They give their hearts and souls to each and every one of our patients. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! We look forward to seeing everyone in 2026!!

We hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you had plenty of friends and family together for this wonderful holiday. My brother and his girlfriend with our longtime friends to Picard from London came to stay with us and we had a wonderful time. We even got to play tennis! Happy Black Friday everyone!
