We're of Penn Medicine | Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Outpatient Therapy speech-language pathologists Erica Ferraiolo-Shearn and Alyssa Tarantino, who presented at the 2025 Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) Conference in Lancaster. Erica and Alyssa presented on COVID-19, Traumatic Brain Injury and the Role of Cognitive Therapy. Well done!

July is celebrated annually as Disability Pride Month, marking the momentous signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990.

One in four people in America have at least one disability, according to the CDC. These can range from disabilities impacting self-care, independence and mobility to hearing, vision and cognition.

GSPP Rehabilitation and our colleagues at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation co-sponsored the 2025 Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) Conference in Lancaster. Clinical experts from both organizations attended and also participated in sharing their expertise with attendees.

GSPP's Kelsey Palmer, CTRS, MS, facilitated Adaptive Yoga: Exploring the Breath and Mind.

BIAPA is designed for professionals, survivors, family members, caregivers and volunteers. This year’s annual conference theme focused on “Celebrating an Empowered Brain Injury Community.”

Penn Medicine | Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Outpatient Therapy is an outpatient service of GSPP Rehabilitation, Official Therapy Provider for Penn Medicine. Located inside Penn Medicine’s University City medical facility, the expansion at 3737 Market Street in Philadelphia allows us to provide:

✋ Dedicated gym and treatment area for hand therapy
🚪 Larger, private rooms for lymphedema therapy
🪑 New 3rd floor check-in area specifically for hand and lymphedema therapy
⚕️ Same specialized care you have come to expect — just in a bigger space
