Barbara O’Neill’s 9 Pillars of Health – Practical Steps for Everyday Living
Health isn’t built in a day - it’s built in the daily choices we make. Barbara’s Sustain Me principles are a simple, powerful guide to restore and protect your health.
Here’s how you can put each pillar into action today:
☀️ Sunshine – Step outside for 15–30 minutes each day. Let the sun touch your skin (morning light is best!) to boost Vitamin D and mood.
💧 Use of Water – Drink pure water regularly and use hydrotherapy, like alternating hot and cold showers, to improve circulation.
😴 Sleep – Aim for consistent bedtimes and at least 7–8 hours of rest. Create a calm, screen-free wind-down routine.
🙏 Trust in Divine Power – Let go of constant worry. Faith, prayer, and gratitude can lower stress and bring peace.
🚫 Abstaining (from anything harmful) – Say no to sugar-laden drinks, processed snacks, smoking, and toxic chemicals in your home.
🌬 Inhale (fresh air) – Open your windows daily. Breathe deeply during outdoor walks or while doing gentle stretches.
🥗 Nutrition – Fill your plate with whole, plant-based foods: vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grains.
⚖️ Moderation – Avoid extremes in diet, work, or play. Balance is key for long-term health.
🏃♀️ Exercise – Move your body daily! Walking, gardening, stretching, or more vigorous exercise if you’re able.
