Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps

Providing Prehospital Care GBAC, established in 1962, has provided 50 years of professional emergency medical service to the Greater Baldwinsville Community.

The Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps is a non-profit volunteer based Emergency Medical Services Provider to the businesses and residences of the Town of Van Buren, Town of Lysander, Town of Geddes, and Village of Baldwinsville. GBAC provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Life Support (ALS) pre-hospital care. EMS coverage is complimented with paid full-time, part-time and volunteer New York State Certified Providers. We currently have 32 volunteers, 11 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees. These Drivers, EMTs, Medics, Paramedics and Helpers cover the district 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. GBAC has a fleet of four New York State Certified Ambulances and a Squad Car. GBAC provides continuing medical education to its members, as well as First-aid and CPR classes to the public. Today five GBAC Paramedics are attending the ABA Advanced Burn Life Support course. This course will provide advanced knowledge on the care and treatment of burn patients. We would like to thank Upstate Burn Center for putting on the course and also CNY HTC for providing the funding for our providers to take the course

In addition to his dedication and service to the BCSFD, Irv also served the Greater Baldwinsville Community as a member of GBAC and Paramedic for many years. Irv earned the distinction of Life Member from his service at GBAC. He and his wife Ginni were very active and served on our Executive Board. He certainly has left behind a legacy with our community. We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
