Adekola Alao, MD, MRCPsych, FACL is a Professor of Psychiatry at the SUNY Upstate medical University and a practicing psychiatrist at Upstate Psychiatry in Baldwinsville NY. He completed his medical school at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and his Master degree at the University College, London, England. He completed his residency at the Oxford University, England in 1996 and at the SUNY Upstate medical University in 1998. He has been on the faculty, department of Psychiatry at the SUNY Upstate Medical University since 1998 and worked as a Polytrauma and Rehabilitation psychiatrist for 10 years. With over 35 years clinical experience experience as a physician, he has been named as Best Doctors in United States yearly since 2007. He has more than 100 publications and presentations in scientific journals and he is passionate about mentoring medical students as well as residents and treating Military Veterans. He is medical student advisor at the Keuka learning community for medical students at the SUNY Upstate Medical University. His clinical interest include please help me edit. Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (he was the founding program director of the fellowship in Psychosomatic medicine at SUNY), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and addiction psychiatry. He is board certified in Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, Addiction Medicine and administrative psychiatry. Dr Alao believes in Holistic Treatment focusing on healing the mind, body and soul and not only prescription medications. Dr Alao is also a personal trainer certified by The American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM).
Abosede Lola Alao graduated from Le Moyne College with Bachelors in Nursing Cum laude in 2008. She continued her education and got her Masters in Nursing with Advanced Practice
Nursing from New Mexico State University in 2010. Lola worked with Dr Ghaly for 7 years after she graduated. Her areas of clinical interest include Medication Management, Psychotherapy and Christian Counseling. She has been certified in Healing Heart wounds and she has been working at the Upstate Psychiatry since 2016.
Heidi Kinnally is an ANCC board certified nurse practitioner in psychiatry. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and Post Masters as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the SUNY Upstate. Heidi has experience in medication management and psychotherapy with a wide variety of clients and diagnoses. Heidi believes that psychotherapy and healthy lifestyle are a necessary part of treatment in conjunction with medications for best client outcomes.
Jennifer Bordonaro-Benson is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor and has been recognized by the National Association of Social Workers as a Qualified Clinical Social Worker. With over 17 years practice experience she offers compassionate, person -centered care to individuals, adolescents, couples and families. Jennifer offers treatment for mental and behavioral health related issues including anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar, grief and loss, substance dependency and acute and post-acute trauma.
Kelly Esposito is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working in the chemical dependency and mental health social work fields. She is passionate about helping people find wholehearted living and freedom from substance use disorders and trauma issues. Kelly has a master’s degree from Syracuse University and has special interests in family work, narrative therapy, and criminal justice reform. She has over 12 years of clinical experience helping individuals, couples, and groups with issues related to depression, anxiety, relationship/family conflict, anger, spirituality, and abuse/self-harm. She believes that therapy is a process of trust, vulnerability, and discovery. Because these things can be difficult, she is especially sensitive to emotional safety, grounding, and creating a peaceful environment. Kelly believes that healing from trauma is best experienced within secure, connected, emotionally intelligent relationships.
Kelly is deeply rooted in her Syracuse hometown, and she is active in her faith community at Axiom Church . In her private practice, Kelly utilizes a blend of interventions and therapeutic techniques, including trauma-focused therapy, narrative therapy, experiential therapy (memory work, somatic experiencing, etc.), family systems therapy, attachment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She would be honored to journey with you and explore ways for you to achieve health, healing, and holistic emotional integration.

Her practice, Intersections for Healing, is a safe harbor for people, just like you, who struggle to heal from life’s wounds and ask God questions in the process. Nicole has experience in various social work settings and incorporates her experiences in her responsibilities as administrative assistant.
