Sometimes our fashion choices might not make a ton of sense outside the walls of Silver Fox, but we are always ready to dress up (or down!) to ensure a fun and creative day for our members. 🎭👕

Whether it’s a themed spirit day or a wacky costume, our staff loves stepping out of uniform to spark a smile. It’s all about creating an environment where our members feel engaged and excited!

National Volunteer Week includes both two-legged and four-legged volunteers!

Love is definitely in the air—puppy love, that is 🐾💖🐾 Our furry friends from Blueprints Dog Studio paid us a visit with Atlas and Kenzie, and let’s be honest… they may have just stolen the title of cutest volunteers of the day!

Animal therapy offers so much more than adorable moments—it helps reduce stress, encourages connection, and brings comfort and joy to those who need it most. Visits like these truly make a lasting impact.

Thank you for bringing so many smiles (and tail wags) to our community!

Post 2 | Day 3 of National Volunteer Week – Baldwinsville Location

The Chick-fil-A Cow says “Eat Mor Chikin”… and while we may not have had sandwiches and waffle fries, we definitely had plenty of fun and laughter! 🐄🎉

Chick-fil-A Clay stopped by to host BINGO and even brought their famous mascot along for the visit. Let’s just say… there may have been a few extra enthusiastic “BINGO!” calls—purely out of excitement for the prizes, of course! And honestly, can you blame us? It’s not every day you have a cow walking around the program!

Chick-fil-A’s community vision is centered around making a positive impact on everyone they connect with, and we were honored to collaborate with a team that shares such strong values around community and connection.

Post 1 | Day 3 of National Volunteer Week – Manlius Location

Our Manlius Location truly showcased the power of community collaboration today. We kicked off the morning by welcoming 10th graders from Christian Brothers Academy CBA Syracuse as part of their Sophomore Retreat. Rooted in the motto of their founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle—“Enter to learn, leave to serve”—these students spent their day giving back, bringing incredible energy, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything they did. They showed up ready for whatever the day had in store, and it did not go unnoticed!

In true Silver Fox fashion, the day didn’t stop there. Our longtime friend Ted joined us at the piano—and what makes his performances even more remarkable is that he plays entirely by ear, despite being blind. His talent, warmth, and connection with our members continue to inspire us all.

And of course… we made sure to leave room to celebrate a member’s birthday! 🎂

A huge shoutout to our Manlius team for their outstanding coordination and teamwork in making a day like this run so seamlessly. They continue to go above and beyond to create meaningful, joyful experiences for our members.

National Volunteer Week continues here at Silver Fox! 🎶

We were thrilled to welcome our neighbors from NBT Bank - Baldwinsville Branch for a special sing-along with our members and staff, led by local entertainer Joe Trionfero with Show of Love.

Joe walked in to the sound of all of us singing Sweet Caroline, and of course, for our encore we had to bring out a favorite—Elvira! He was impressed with our skills… but we politely declined his invitation to join him on tour (for now 😉). 🎤

Moments like these remind us how strong and supportive our community truly is. Your continued partnership helps us grow our programs and enrich the lives of aging adults every day.

We’re grateful for all of our past, present, and future collaborations—and we invite more of our community to learn about the value of social day centers and the vital respite they provide to caregivers.

Here at Silver Fox we offer a calm, enjoyable and stress free environment with experienced staff and social stimulation. We offer an organized and diverse program of individual and group activities, case management services, medication reminders and assistance with personal care, as necessary. Our staff members have years of experience caring for seniors. They are certified in CPR and receive ongoing training in elder care. Staff members include a Registered Nurse, Case Manager, certified home health aides, a Recreation Therapist and on-site chef.
