Today I visited two of our four factories to sign off on projects, and I’m sitting in the car just letting it sink in.
What you see now looks exciting, polished, “successful.” What you didn’t see were the moments I was SURE it was over.
The funding gaps, the sourcing setbacks, the manufacturing delays, the doors that closed. The nights I questioned everything, and shed a few tears.
Every single time we hit a wall, something happened that I can only describe as miracles.
The right person called.
The right introduction, or re-introduction, was made.
The right door opened - almost always at the very last second.
This whole thing started as an idea my Dad and I breathed life into. A gut feeling, literally, and a solution I was desperately searching for after cancer.
And the best part? Although she’s not here to see it flourish, my mom was the catalyst behind it all. Through Opu, she’s still nursing people back to better health. I love that we get to carry forward her legacy as a nurse. 👩⚕️
Right now, four different factories are working on different components of Opu Probiotics, all in the Southeast.
I walked the floors today & saw teams working on something that once only existed in my head. 🤯
Miracle after miracle brought us here. And dear friends absolutely blew our minds, they are the only reason we’ve made it to today. They invested in our dream, risk and all.
Just when I thought the journey after Shark Tank couldn’t get crazier, it just got better. One day I’ll share it all in a much longer form, because I’m certain it will inspire someone who is in the same place!
If you’ve supported Opu in any way thank you, you’re a part of our story.
Over the next few months I’ll be sharing in real time how the largest retailer in the world helped this small business rise!
