SMC is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to serve as Treasurer on our Board of Directors.

The Treasurer plays a vital role in overseeing financial stewardship, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring our mission is carried out with transparency and accountability.

If you have experience in finance, accounting, or nonprofit management—and a passion for making a difference in our community as a volunteer—we’d love to hear from you!

Thank you Alexandria Lions Club Branch for having me yesterday! I loved meeting you guys and learning more about the Lions Club.

Challie Mercer with The Broom Tree, a nonprofit out of Ball joined us for our meeting yesterday. She spoke on the struggles as a parent of an autistic child and how her struggles helped her create Jake's Place which is an indoor playground geared towards children with special needs. She wanted to create a safe space for not only her child but the other kids of CENLA and their parents who often feel isolated to come together and create lasting friendships. The Broom Tree also provides grants to families of special children to assist with paying for necessary medical treatments that the family usually has to travel to obtain. Challie and her team are doing great things in Ball. Bring your kids to Jake's Place for $8 all they can play days.

We are offering a homeschool pe class, open to kids of all abilities. The classes will be on Thursday mornings starting September 25.
We are limiting this class to 20 kids.
