Lead vocalist and legendary musical icon, Freddie Mercury, died of AIDS-related complications in 1991. His cremated remains were first kept with his good friend, Mary Austin, and later scattered at his Garden Lodge home in London. Today, his official gravesite remains private as well as any additional burial details. However, rumors have speculated that some of Freddie’s cremains were scattered in a secret location known only to a small number of fans, where they can visit and pay tribute to him.

“Graving” is a term referring to the hobby of searching for and documenting specific gravesites, such as for the purpose of genealogy or those of celebrities. For example, Elvis Presley was originally buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee with his mother, Gladys. However, after someone tried to rob his body, Elvis’ remains were relocated to the pristine Meditation Garden at the Graceland Mansion in Tennessee. This is now a popular tourist destination for avid fans and the curious.
