Sorella spot light! This month we are sharing our dear friend

Audra Wood is the Executive Director of Fresh Water Friends, a nonprofit here in Ballston Lake that helps people get clean water! A geologist by training, she got involved in this mission after she learned about the difficulties faced by women and girls who are responsible for carrying water long distances for their families. The highlight of her work so far has been visiting several well sites in India with her son, and meeting the people who have been helped.

“Actually talking to girls whose futures have opened up simply because they have a village well blew my mind! Every person I met was so beautiful and generous and kind. All of these women deserve the chance to give their children clean, safe water, and every girl should get to spend her time in school so she can have a better future. I am so honored to serve girls like these, and get to share their victories with our Friends back home!”
