High school seniors participating in a program designed to expose students to medical careers recently visited Cincinnati Eye Institute West to learn more about pathways in optometry and ophthalmology.

During the visit, Luke B. Lindsell, O.D., M.D., retina specialist and surgeon, provided an inside look at ocular anatomy, retinal disease management, and surgical techniques, offering students hands-on exposure to the clinical realities of eye care.

Experiences like these play an important role in building the future health care workforce. Early exposure, physician mentorship and real-world clinical insight help inspire the next generation of doctors and allied health professionals.

We’re proud of our physicians and practices who invest in developing tomorrow’s vision care leaders.

Extended screen exposure does not cause permanent eye damage. However, it is a leading contributor to digital eye strain and dry eye symptoms.

As device use expands across work, education and recreation, clinicians are seeing increased reports of:
➡️ Visual fatigue
➡️ Fluctuating vision
➡️ Ocular surface discomfort

Proactive screening and management of dry eye disease play an important role in long-term ocular health and patient performance.

Clinical awareness matters as digital demands continue to grow.

Eye care starts with the experts behind the exam.

Eyes can change long before patients notice symptoms, and that’s why the work of eye care professionals matters so much. From early detection to long-term vision health, annual eye exams play a critical role in patient outcomes and preventative care.

We recently shared a blog across many of our practice channels reinforcing why annual eye exams matter, and it’s a reminder of the expertise, clinical judgment, and trust our care teams bring to every visit.
