Measles usually starts with a fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes that lead to a rash. It’s important to know the signs and symptoms of measles so your child and family can isolate and keep others safe. Measles can lead to infection of the lungs or swelling of the brain, which can sometimes lead to death. If you suspect your child has measles, call your healthcare provider right away and keep your child away from others while they are ill.
