September is National Recovery Month 💜
A time to celebrate healing, support those on their journey, and remind everyone that recovery is possible.
Substance abuse doesn’t just affect behavior—it takes a deep toll on both mental and cardiovascular health. It can fuel depression, anxiety, cognitive decline, and even psychosis, while also increasing the risk of suicide—especially when mental illness goes untreated.
At the same time, substance use strains the heart, raising the risk of heart attacks, strokes, arrhythmias, and serious infections—sometimes even after short-term use.
Let’s break the stigma, amplify support, and recognize that recovery is not only real—it’s worth celebrating.
