As many of you are aware, a tragic incident involving a mass overdose occurred in Baltimore City today. While the investigation is ongoing and reports are still being verified, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the significance of today, as well as moving forward.
First and foremost, our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by today’s events. Our thoughts are with the individuals, families, and communities that were impacted.
We would also like to express our immense gratitude for the actions and contributions from our first responders and the essential organizations that support our city. Today, we were joined by the Baltimore Harm Reduction Coalition, Charm City Care Connection, MPAC, the Baltimore City Health Department, and others (apologies if you were left out). The swift response, solidarity, and compassion demonstrated, were truly inspiring.
Finally, for those in the Baltimore area who may be casually using drugs, in active addiction, or know someone who is, we continue to strongly encourage the practice of harm reduction strategies.
