For American Heart Month, we’re honoring members of our cardiac team who help make the work we do possible. Today, we are featuring May Wilkinson, ECMO specialist at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
“Going into my 24th year at Hopkins, I have been fortunate enough to have worked with the best providers, respiratory therapists, nurses and ancillary staff that I know. We strive every day to come up with solutions for each child and give the best care to families and patients. This is something I am so proud of. People understand that it takes a team to help every patient. Our medical staff can come up with the brightest solution and the best plan, but it is the patient and their family that fights for it to come to fruition. My favorite part of this job is having the privilege to work with some of the strongest and most brave kids I have seen. I have been so lucky to see patients and their families during and after their time at Hopkins. To follow up with them, to see the kids go to school and hit milestones in their life, means the absolute world to me,” said May.
On behalf of Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, thank you, May, for all of your hard work and dedication!
