This weekend, a small fire at the Langston Hughes Community Center resulted in major water damage throughout the building from sprinklers. As a result, all tenants/programs must immediately suspend onsite service while damages are accessed and repairs begin.

Smart Steps, Smart Steps Youth Services, and Center For Youth & Families are all affected by this emergency. We are currently seeking emergency and/or long term space to continue in person services previously provided at LH. Please contact Glenice Shabazz at gshabazz@cfyfmd.org or gshabazz@smartstepscc.org with any available space information.

Are you seeking clients?

The Center For Youth & Families is seeking licensed clinicians, therapy practices and groups that are looking to increase their client base. With immediate youth and adult referrals, CFYF is eager to connect clients to clinicians with available schedules.

Why is CFYF the best place to connect with clients? How can CFYF remove barriers to retaining referred clients? After surveying their community of youth and adult clients, CFYF has determined solutions to common barriers for independent clinicians:

-Access to onsite space for individual sessions
***When transportation is a barrier, access to private onsite offices allow PRP clients to see independent therapists, conveniently. CFYF has designated spaces to support coordination of care.

-Access to computers for Telehealth options
***When access to technology is a barrier, PRP clients can connect with therapists virtually in private spaces. CFYF has the technology needed to support clients onsite.

-Consistency In Communication
***PRP and Therapy are only successful when coordination of care is deliberate, easy and consistent. CFYF’s PRP Coordinator works directly with clinicians to manage communication using the specific system that works best for them. With email, portal based and virtual options, coordination of care is TOP PRIORITY!

CFYF strives to effectively collaborate in an effort to coordinate care. By working together to meet the needs of our clients and removing identified barriers, they will achieve IRP goals, maintain consistency in therapy, and become their best selves.

Interested in supporting clients in need of access to therapy? Interested in receiving direct referrals for clients in need of immediate support? Email jalabioni@cfyfmd.org today.
