The Johns Hopkins University will freeze hiring, pause pay increases and slow down capital projects amid ongoing federal cuts and uncertainty, the schoolโ€™s leadership said Monday.

To respond to the current and potential future funding constraints, the university is taking steps to โ€œshore up university and divisional finances,โ€ according to a letter emailed to the university community. Those steps include pausing scheduled pay increases for employees earning more than $80,000 yearly.
