One of the most gratifying parts of my work lately is the Intra-oral TMJD sessions I’m doing. I begin these sessions by working on the muscles of the head, face, and neck that are involved in jaw movement. I then put on gloves and use my finger to access the small muscles inside the mouth Most of my clients come to me after a lifetime of pain and discomfort, and as I witness the relief washing over their faces, I am always in awe of the effectiveness of these techniques. Studies show positive correlations for the benefits of massage on blood glucose levels. I recently got to experience it in person with my client who has been struggling with high glucose. She took readings before and after her massage, showing a 20 point decrease in blood sugar by the end of the massage! Every day I get to witness the magic of massage, and every day I’m grateful to be part of this work.
