🛕Enter the Sacred Dance Temple Sat March 2 from 6:30-9:30pm with your hosts .nobo, , ! The Sacred Dance Temple is a journey into the cosmic mystery. As we transform the dance floor into a Temple, we enter a deepened state of interconnection. Temple is the space where expectations, judgements, and preferences surrender to intuition, impulse, and trance. In trance, you are no longer just an individual dancing. You are the dance, the dance floor, the music, and the whole human field vibrating with aliveness and connection.

Starting our journey into the Dance Temple with an embodiment warm up, Haribo! Bridging the worlds of higher education, mystery schools, men’s work, and Summer camps, Haribo’s offerings integrate + elevate mind, body, heart, and soul.

We immerse ourselves into the dance temple with our DJ, ELECTROCUTE aka Arielle! ELECTROCUTE is the founder and resident DJ of Ecstatic Dance Arlington and hosts wellness-focused dance events in the DC area with her project Soul Fire Experiences. ELECTROCUTE will take you on a journey through many eras, genres, and cultures with unexpected twists and turns along the way that will have you both twirling and twerking on the dance floor. You can expect to hear world music elements mixed with organic, driving, and funky electronic beats as an homage to their Middle Eastern, South Asian, and European ancestry.

Nicholas, Sophia, and Teporah of Harmony Works will close our Sacred Dance Temple taking everyone into an hour long sound medicine journey, with guided alchemical meditations from Sophia Wise One, Channeled Keyboard inspiration and codes from Teporah, mixing seamlessly with the bass crystal bowls and 40inch Earth Gong played by Nicholas. Awaken afresh, clear, and potent after dancing hard then settling into the deep still points amidst the sacred soundscape.

Saturday with 🎶☕️

On a winter’s eve illuminated by the silvery light of the full moon, come commune in a winter prayer: Kakao & Kirtan! In celebration of a full rotation around the sun of the collaborations of Kakao & Kirtan ceremonies, we are EXPANDING the experience, bringing this sacred, joy-filled medicine to Baltimore.

We open the prayer with a gentle communion with sacred plant medicine Grandmother Cacao, led by Becca Steinbach, opening our hearts to the magic of togetherness and the mystery of Spirit. Hearts open & alive, we flow into an activating, expanded Kirtan led by Adam Kandel and the Rhizomes! A full band experience, this kirtan will be filled with a soul animating life force that will infuse you with the exact medicine that you need!

Winter, the quieter season of the year, is not only the time to be within, it is also a time to bring hearts together in a warm, cozy, welcoming, beautiful, loving space. Let’s savor the sweetness of connecting circles & communities - a night of soul families cross-pollinating! Hearts uniting, come connect sing, dance & move some energy (let’s not be TOO still in winter 😉 )!

What is Kirtan? Call and response style of devotional singing. You will experience a variety of devotional songs including Sanskrit mantras, medicine songs, and more. Call and response style requires no knowledge of lyrics. Many songs will be sung Kirtan style, others will be sung all together. Kirtans and song circles require no experience/skill in singing! It’s a time to play with allowing your voice to express, be heard, and join other voices.

Please join .s.hoel this Friday for a very special Movement Journey 💫

I am a Ceremonial Empath. I enter into Ceremonial Ritual spaces to connect consciously with the Intelligence of Life flowing through me… through us all.

I use the power of rhythm, movement, and intention to access the inner world of consciousness. Through this connection, I seek healing of the habitual thought patterns that no longer serve me. I seek physical and emotional healing by releasing embodied memories that I am ready to let go of through rhythmic, free-form, ecstatic movement.

For this journey, we start by Arriving and setting our Intentions.

We’ll then begin an hour-long, intuitive movement journey. I will share prompts and invite you to deeper awareness and acceptance of “What’s so” in your current physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual experience.

We will connect with resources for our journey and invoke guidance and support from our Inner World. And sometimes we might just dissolve into the Joy of Being Alive.

After the journey, we will soak in the stillness of Awakened Consciousness and then meet in Sacred Circle for sharing and integration.

This month we will reflect on the cycle that has ended and begin the visioning that will begin the next cycle of Life with a bit more Intention and Awareness.

Dear Movement Family,

Thank you so much for 2 years of movement, healing, growth, connection, and joy! 🙏 thanks for all of your support, we are now able to expand our community to grow into our very own space, which will offer us all more opportunities for daily movement and spiritual practices, mindful events, and community connection!

March will be our final month as Motion Collective. Beginning April 6th, you can join us in our new home 🥰

Our Yoga teacher will be the Director of Operations at Tribe, and you’ll be able to practice with her 5 days a week! In the meantime, she has 2 more community yoga classes with Motion Collective, before she heads out to India for an intensive 300 hour yoga training.

Amanae is a transformational healing modality that can be experimented in both private and group sessions. We begin and warm up with a channeled and imaginative meditation for opening our heart center that deepens our presence for the experience. At an Amanae Collective Experience the healing power of Amanae is amplified by the group during a demonstration where one person is selected to receive the technique directly while the entire group journeys through their own emotional and energetic process. Amanae is a hands-on technique where the practitioner activates and opens doorways (portals) in the body and its energetic system of channels, unblocking and releasing stored emotional and energetic signatures.

Join community for an evening of embodiment, playfulness, and healing. We will co-create a sense of unity and sacredness through cacao, movement, sound, and meditation.

We begin with a cacao circle and intention setting led by Yana. This will be followed by a gentle embodiment practice to cultivate a sense of warmth and presence in the body, led by Justin.

Afterwards, we will embark on a journey of personal exploration and expression through curated music, led by DJ Zen Steady and DJ Prana Yana. Let your body move as we go from low to high tempo and back to low

Lastly, we land and integrate through soothing healing vibrations of sound bath instruments. A guided meditation by Zen Steady during this sound bath will support your manifestation goals.

Join us for a community song circle this Monday 2/12 at 6pm! 🎶

Humans have been gathering and singing for countless generations. It is a universal way that our ancestors connected with each other and the essence of the divine within. As more studies show the countless mental, emotional, and physical benefits of groups singing we can’t help but feel this is the medicine for our time. So many distractions in the modern world can leave us feeling a lack of connection and inspiration. Join us as we gather to sing from our collection of spiritual songs from a variety of languages and traditions. Our musical guides, and , will lead us through a journey of heart opening rhythm and melody with their instruments. We will gather with intention at 6pm to begin singing from the new songbooks by 6:30 pm. $10-20 suggested donation for the space. Let us know if you want a PDF of the book for your device, otherwise we will have printed books for sale.

Lunar New Year Updates! 🐉🔮✨

Due to all the incredible things happening at St Luke’s Church this weekend, we’ve had to move some things around for our festival! Luckily we are flexible 😉

Festival schedule changes:

1) Lunar New Year Dragon Yoga Flow with will now be on Saturday, 2/10 at 10am in the Sanctuary and donation-based

2) Soul Ecstasy Activation with Personal Crystal Arrays and Live Sound Medicine with will now be on Sunday from 4-7pm in the Upper Room.

This Saturday! 🥁

Kristen Arant aka The Drumlady, is a musician, activist and teaching artist whose mission is to facilitate skilled artistry and self-expression, and to build camaraderie and community amongst a diverse, intergenerational student body. Originally an oboe player majoring in music and inspired to drum via her activist pursuits, Kristen has studied West African drumming, song and percussion for over 20 years in order to utilize these art forms as her primary tools in furthering this mission. Kristen is known for her intuitive, accessible teaching style, which has led to many communities sprouting up around her, each with the drum at its center. For 10 years, she founded and ran a DC non-profit called the Young Women’s Drumming Empowerment Project - a rites of passage program for young women. She is the founder of the all-women’s West African drumming ensemble Bele Bele Rhythm Collective, West African drumming teacher for DC-based youth empowerment organization Words, Beats & Life, and leader of the Akoma @ All Souls drumming group out of the social justice-based All Souls church in Washington DC.

In Drumspiration! Drumlady Kristen Arant with assistance from members of the Bele Bele Rhythm Collective welcome all souls to engage in skill building, self expression and connection through rhythm making. Hone your skills on the djembe, dununs and other instruments, learn new patterns and rhythms from West Africa, and sing along with songs from the Akan and Mandingue people of West Africa. During and after teaching, Kristen will facilitate a rhythm-based music jam where each individual voice feels empowered to add strength and love to the whole circle.

Join us for a Lunar New Year Harmonic Convergence Festival at St Luke’s Church on the Avenue Feb 9th, 10th, and 11th.

and Motion Collective had so much fun for our New Years Eve Ecstatic Dance and Sound Bath collaboration, we couldn’t wait to do it again, and put together a mini festival for Chinese New Year, the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, The New Moon, and the Year of the Dragon 🐉

Our Harmonic Convergence will involve two ecstatic dances, sound medicine galore, dragon yoga, crystal grid meditations, open vocalization, cacao, manifestation, and a soul ecstasy activation journey.
