Did we find a ā€œcureā€ for autism? The answer is no, but we found a powerful advocate: Dr. Temple Grandin.

Temple Grandin’s story isn’t about overcoming autism; it’s about channeling her unique autistic perspective and using it as a superpower. She provided the world with invaluable insight into how autistic individuals view and process information.

Her work fundamentally changed how we understand both animal science and the autistic mind.

We celebrate Temple Grandin and all advocates who teach the world that acceptance and understanding are the keys to unlocking potential, not a cure.

Did Dr. Shaun Murphy overreact? 🤯

It raises a fascinating question: Should autistic individuals be surgeons or doctors?

We believe that the unique analytical skills and intensive focus often associated with autism are incredible assets in medicine. However, navigating the demanding social pressures of a hospital setting can present challenges.

What are your thoughts on neurodiversity in the surgical suite? Tell us in the comments! šŸ‘‡

The true meaning of humanity was captured on Survivorā¤ļø

A powerful moment: a competitor paused the game to help an autistic player having an intense episode, knowing exactly how to provide comfort and support her breathing.

This demonstrates the immense good that comes from education and empathy.

Imagine a world where everyone knows how to calmly support and help someone with autism process intense moments. Learning these skills makes our society kinder, safer, and stronger for everyone.

Could Bill Gates be one of the most successful autistic people of our time? 🤯

Bill Gates has publicly stated that if he were born today, he likely would have been diagnosed as autistic, citing struggles with social cues alongside his intense focus and analytical brilliance.

It’s powerful to realize that some of the world’s greatest innovators may have navigated the world with unrecognized autistic traits.

This proves that what some view as a ā€œweaknessā€ is often a superpower that drives world-changing success.

Watch Brendan Fraser get emotional on The Kelly Clarkson Show discussing his short film, Saving Superman, and his own son with autism.

His message is vital: We need more education!

He stresses that autism awareness and needs must be integrated into all educational courses.

This ensures autistic individuals have the understanding and access required to thrive in society.

Thank you, Brendan, for advocating for education, access, and empathy.

Check this out! Technology is giving non-verbal kids a voice, and we are incredibly grateful.

Seeing a child use an iPad or AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device to speak for the first time is pure magic. It’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come.

Yes, the pace of AI and technology can feel scary sometimes, and no, it’s not perfect. But when it allows a child to express a feeling, make a request, or say ā€œI love you,ā€ it is an undeniable force for good.

We are thankful for the new age of tools that help unlock potential.

Happy Thanksgiving from the ALLSTAR ABA family! We are truly grateful for the trust you place in us. 🦃🧔

They might be human calculators, master artists, perfect musicians, or have an encyclopedic memory about a specific topic. These aren’t just quirks; they are superpowers! šŸ¦øā€ā™€ļøšŸ¦øā€ā™‚ļø

At ALLSTAR ABA, we don’t just focus on areas of need; we identify, foster, and celebrate these unique strengths. We believe every child’s potential is unlocked when their strengths are recognized.

A diagnosis changes everything—and not just for the person diagnosed.

When someone in your family or friend group receives an autism diagnosis, it often takes time for loved ones to process the news.

Think about the Girl Meets World episode where they discover their friend, Farkle, is autistic. Their reaction isn’t the expected sadness or drama; it’s a moment of recalibration.

Sometimes, denial or resistance comes from a place of love, fear of the unknown, or a perception that the diagnosis conflicts with who they thought you/your child were.

šŸ’– Our Compassion Tip: If you’ve shared a diagnosis, remember to give grace to those closest to you. They need time to shift their perspective and fully embrace the neurodiversity of the person they love. Education and patience are the greatest tools for acceptance.

We support every person in the family through this journey.

We love seeing authentic representation like Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor.

While soft skills like communication or eye contact may develop differently, the analytical excellence and focus many autistic individuals possess are undeniable strengths, especially in fields like medicine!

The takeaway from this scene (Dr. Murphy connecting with an autistic patient) is critical: Understanding and adjusting communication styles is the key to successful interaction.

This applies directly to training our Law Enforcement and Emergency Responders.

🚨 Education Saves Lives: Professionals need training to distinguish between someone who is in crisis, experiencing a meltdown, or communicating due to autism. A different approach, focused on calm, clear, and sensory-aware methods, is vital for safety and de-escalation.

This is why education and training are essential for everyone in our community.
