Pop Culture & Health Lab at Johns Hopkins University The Pop Culture & Health (PCH) Lab at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

The PCH Lab is a group of researchers and students at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health - led by Dr. Meghan Moran - interested in the ways that media and pop culture shape health behavior and outcomes. We use a variety of approaches, including experiments, content analysis, surveys, rhetorical analysis and psychophysiological measurement to answer questions such as:

*Wh

at tobacco advertising tactics are most attractive to teenagers, and how does this advertising contribute to tobacco use?

*Why does a teen who identifies as a Skater experience different health outcomes than a teen who identifies as an Academic?

*How do anti-vaccine websites persuade parents that vaccines are unsafe, when science tells us otherwise?
