We had an exciting, fun time at Tie Dye Night last week! Folks dyed tote bags, bucket hats, and at least 1 person brought a shirt from home to dye! We got to be creative with colors and used our imaginations to make the best final products.

We have a lot of art-themed social events coming up, including tonight's "Expressive Art Night" and next week's Jewelry Making Workshop! Swing by and join us to get that creativity flowing!

We were honored to host Maryland Health Secretary Dr. Meena Seshamani along with other senior officials, including Deputy Secretaries Alyssa Lord and Perrie Brisken, Senior Advisor Sonia Chessen, and Policy Analyst Leticia Nketiah.

As we work to educate partners around the state on our unique model, we are so grateful to the Maryland Department of Health for their ongoing support. We look forward to continuing the conversation so that we can ensure that one day soon all Marylanders will have access to a Clubhouse program in their communities!

Today, our post is about tips for being content in the present moment:
1) Practice gratitude - sometimes it feels like everything might be going wrong, but if you take a couple minutes to think about and be thankful for things that are going right, it can really change your mood.
2) Try a creative hobby - take a break from thinking about big future problems and focus on something small you can do with your hands
3) Sometimes it's hard to keep perspective, but leaning on your community can help you see the bigger picture. Let your friends support you!

Clubhouse International - ICCD has a document called the "Quality Standards." The standards are how we run the Clubhouse and serves as bill of rights for members. They guide the way we run our Clubhouse and make sure it's, "a place that offers respect and opportunity to its members." Each day at the end of our WOD meetings, we read a standard and discuss what it means to us or how we see it in action.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

In September 2022, B'More Clubhouse had the honor of hosting the Clubhouse International - ICCD World Seminar right here in Baltimore. The event brought over 600 of our colleagues and mental health advocates from 14 countries. Mayor Brandon M. Scott helped us to kick off the event and our team at B'More Clubhouse presented several workshops and was involved in all aspects of planning and executing the seminar.

Work-Ordered Day Spotlight: Greeters!

One of the most important work-ordered day jobs is greeting at the front desk! Whoever signs up for that work is usually the first person that people see when they walk through our front doors. Greeters make sure everyone signs in, answers the phone, takes messages, and--most importantly-- they help make sure everyone who comes in feels welcome, whether they are Clubhouse Colleagues or visitors.

We're finally going to see the Orioles play! B'More Clubhouse has tickets for tomorrow's game against the Seattle Mariners, first pitch is at 1:05 PM. We are bringing bagged lunches (meat and vegetarian sandwiches, fruit, bag of chips, and water bottle).

If you take Mobility/Taxi Access/Uzurv: Plan to meet us at the main entrance of the stadium on Camden Street (333 W. Camden St) by 12:30 PM, and schedule your pick-up around 3 PM.

The Clubhouse building will be closed after 11:30 AM on Thursday and will reopen on Friday morning.
